It has been three and a half years since the R’s last trip to the Hawthorns in what was a memorable 4-1 victory. That was, of course, a Premier League game but the Baggies now find themselves playing in the second tier of English football for the first time since 2010 following their relegation. Now led by their former centre-back Darren Moore, the side from the West Midlands have had a mixed start to the campaign winning one, drawing one and losing one, whilst also progressing to Round Two of the Carabao Cup. The R’s will come up against a former face on Saturday with winger Matty Phillips now a key player for the Baggies. After a comfortable victory over Peterborough in mid-week attention now switches to the Championship, and with three games in the next seven days, things can change very quickly in this division. The R’s were unlucky to get nothing against Sheffield United last week so will hope for a somewhat change in fortune against, on paper, a strong looking West Brom team. please log in to view this image Bobby Zamora's Goal In Our Last Encounter There ... Previous classic meeting WBA 1-4 QPR – April 2015QPR convincingly beat West Brom to record only their second Premier League away win of the season and move within a point of safety. Chilean forward Eduardo Vargas struck from long range before Charlie Austin headed a 16th league goal of the season and Bobby Zamora's superb lob made it 3-0. Victor Anichebe headed a goal back for West Brom, who had Youssouf Mulumbu sent off for an elbow on Joey Barton. But Barton wrapped up victory from close range after a swift counter-attack to give Chris Ramsey’s side a memorable win. please log in to view this image Manager Quotes Steve McClaren: “West Brom are full of Premier League pedigree and it is a big test for us. They’ve more or less kept their squad together. They’ve added Dwight Gayle, a proven scorer in the Championship. It will be very tough.” Darren Moore: “Because we’re in the Championship, we’re a bigger scalp for a lot of people, I’m just focusing on the personnel here. Every single game has massive hurdles to deal with and we can only handle them one at a time. That’s the best way to go about it really. I can’t influence what people think outside the club, I just focus on the strength we have got to try to win football matches.” please log in to view this image Team News Out - QPR Darnell Furlong (knee) Doubtful Sean Goss (back), Angel Rangel (fitness) Out – West Brom None Doubtful Craig Dawson (Personal reasons), Kieran Gibbs (leg) Possible Starting Xl please log in to view this image Further Reading LFW looks back on our 1982 Semi-Final https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/queensparkrangers/news/48467 please log in to view this image
Dave's on holiday so I've done the matchday thread for this game. He returns in time for the Birmingham game, so if anyone else wants to have a go at a matchday thread for the Bristol City, Wigan and Bristol Rovers ( Cup ) games then please let me know on this thread.
Typical am in London today and the R's are away...... Would take a point if offered.... Like that side 999's and obz's goal should have won goal of the season as much for the surprise element and wonderful technique Up the R's
Tx 9s. Fantastic goal from Bobby Z. Bookies heavily backing us to lose sadly. Take the draw right now. Up The Rss!
Every now and then the Rangers spring a surprise on me, hopefully today is the day We need at least a strong performance and a point from this one, to lose our first 3 games will be a disaster for morale and turn off any possible loanees
It will be a tough match and now I would willingly take a point. Three would be a great result. However, should we lose, I will avoid the message boards as I envisage a minor melt-down. COYR’s!
Why would Ingram be dropped after 2 games? He was given the no.1 shirt and I don't think he's been culpable for any goals concede has he?
That's only a possible side, many rate Lumley the better prospect. Whoever gets picked faces a busy afternoon...
Dwight Gayle, *hit. Didn't know they got him on loan. His bound to score, good player in this division.
2 questions, compadres... Is there a stream on QPR+ today and... is there a test video somewhere on the QPR site to see if your computer is even compatible (I'm at work)?
I’ve not come all the way here for Jordan ****ing Cousins you stupid Dutch wannabe ****. Get some ****ing pace in the team.
I finally found a bar that sells Guiness. I will be thinking of the Rangers later. Good luck to all that are going. Let's hope we get a result today. Come on you R's!
