Alright chaps, well the transfer window has closed with 1 new arrival and 1 departure going down on the final day. I just wanted to share my views with the rest of you guys.

At the minute I feel a tad disapointed with our transfer business with the lack of midfield creativity that we have brought in and wanted to air my views on our signings.

Westwood - for a free transfer great work by Brucie and I am glad to see Gordon is still at the club, Westwood IMO should be battling it out with Mignolet for the second choice keaper spot and as soon as Gordon is up and running should be back between the sticks.

O'Shea - a great piece of business from Brucie and for 5m, will add that much needed experience to the backline and with his versatility to play anywere across the back four and midfield will be a big player for us this season if he can stay fit.

Brown - for 1m probably Brucie's best signing if he can stay fit and play 28-30games+ will add so much to our backline.

Elmohamady - last season showed glimpses of potential and at just a young age and his ability to play RB aswell as RM and his big attritube which is pace I think for 2m its a decent enough deal the lad is only going to get better. If he can improve his crossing and his shooting he will be a canny player.

Larsson - I aint to sure about this transfer I know its a free transfer but its about getting the right players in not how much they cost. I don't think this will be a bad signing but I am a tad disapointed we never saw a fast, direct, energetic player brought in for the right hand side someone like SWP.

Gardner - For 6m I think the money could of been better spent, I like Gardner as a player but we have loads of centre mids who are pretty much the same I would of rather Brucie of gone out and used the money and got Kranjcar or a similar player who would offer us creativity in the midfield.

Vaughan - For a free transfer I think this could be a canny transfer and could of been a better one if we had addressed that we need a player aswell who plays central midfield with creativity. Players like Vaughan and Colback keep it simple, rarely waste the ball and let the more attacking players take all the credit.

Ji - The gamble of the pack. For 2m though he is worth the risk and by all acounts was very good in pre-season. Only a young lad so has time on his side if it works out great if not then unlucky you have to take risks everynow and again.

Wickham - Has a lot of potential and comes with a big price tag I personally think he will turn out to be a good signing for the future and I like Brucie's idea of bringing him in slowly.

Bendtner - Good signing will score us goals I would imagine and will cause problems for the opposition

Thats my view on the signings that we have made I give Brucie a 7/10. I think he has done well with the goalkeaper and defensive signings aswell as Vaughan and the strikers. I just feel a tad disapointed we never added 2midfielders who would add pace, energy, goals and creativity to our midfield, sorted out the left back spot which has been a problem for god knows how long now aswell as bringing in a 15goal a season striker.

with our team now and once everyone is fit I would play

    ----------------- Gordon -----------------

    O'Shea --- Bramble ---- Brown --- Bardsley

    ----------------- Colback ----------------

    -- Larsson ----- Richardson -- Sessegnon -

    --------- Bendtner ------ Gyan -----------

    subs

Turner, Mignolet, Vaughan, Cattermole, Gardner, Wickham, Ji

good post. I too am disappointed about not getting a fast paced winger. But I am pleased about Bendtner, and that we did not get Crouch. In my eyes Bendtner is much better, and may show this with regular games with us. I was checking his stats and has scored between 6-9 goals in the last 3 seasons. Most of his appearances were subs. So play every game could score 10-15 goals.

It may also give Gyan a kick up the backside.

With regards to your team when fully fit, mine would be:

    ----------------- Gordon -----------------

    O'Shea --- Turner ---- Brown --- Bardsley

    Larsson ---- Gardner ---- Catts ---- Sess

    --------- Bendtner ------ Gyan -----------

I prefer Turner, I know he hoofs it, but with Brown there maybe he might be better - alas Anton Ferdinand before he left.

Cattermole is our captain and will play. Gardner is nothing like Cattermole. Don't know where people are getting the comparisons. Gardner maybe have the fighting edge like Cattermole, but he can also score, pass and shoot. He is an attacking midfield, while Cattermole is a defender midfield.

    Fowards are self explanatory

    Gordon

    O'Shea Bramble Brown Bardsley

    Catts

    Larsson Vaughan

    Sess

    Bendtner Gyan

Gone for something a bit different. For me I'd start Colback ahead of Catts but as said he is the captain and will always start. Solid back 4. Bramble looked excellent last year. Alongside Brown I think he'll really thrive. If we loosely played with a diamond then Catts could stay back and let Sess be our playmaker. Playing behind two strikers would mean he would have plenty of options as well as the option to go it alone. As for Vaughan he could turn out to be a very shrewd move. I haven't seen much of him but I get the idea that he's hard working and has the knack for playing a killer ball which is what we're crying out for. He's played on the left before and is left footed so would bring a bit of balance into the team.

Surely that team can create chances, enough chances, for two premiership strikers to bag a healthy amount between them???

The thought of Bendtner on the far post with Gyan lurking when Larsson crosses should put the ****s up any defence.
