On the up side at least we now know that Ashley has spent £35 million on greggs pasties, so will hopefully either be so fat he cant get through his front door so needs to sell Newcaslte, or has a heart attack and sells the club

I feel gutted, angry, deflated, a little cheated, and just so disappointed we didn't manage to get a striker in. It's taken alot of the optimism away from what I have viewed as a decent window to be fair. But we've had 8 MONTHS to get a replacement for Carroll. 8 MONTHS!!

I remember Pardew saying we were going to scour the european market, and leave no stone unturned in our efforts to get a striker in. Yet here we are on the last day making arses of ourselves as usual by bidding on players left, right, and centre and just hoping for the best. If they were so interested in Ruiz why not bid for him a month ago? Infact why not bid last night as soon as they heard Fulham offer had been accepted?

I quite like Pardew and think he's done ok since he came but the lies about the striker has been unreal. God help Ben Arfa. The pressure the lad's going to be under now when he comes back from injury is going to be immense. Really unfair on him aswell.

Well, if we'd got a striker, it would have been a highly successful window. As it stands, we're without a striker or another defender. Broken promise after broken promise however... At the start of the window, all the talk was about how we needed to keep our best players (Barton, Nolan and Enrique) and we failed with all 3. We were then promised a second striker, after Ba signed just days into it. Once again, the club fail and fail and fail to attract a player. Next season, it's almost certain we'll struggle to score goals. Cabaye clearly has a hunger to try and get a goal for us, so fair play to him, but I'm yet to see anything from Obertan to suggest he's going to be chipping in with 5+ goals this season.

Does anyone know if theres a later deadline for loan deals again this season? Always a chance we could still get a striker in on loan later on, and make it permanent in January.

Wait a second, I think you're onto something there. Krul in goal, Elliot on the bench and Harper up front!

I gurantee you that he scores more goals than any of our strikers. Includes best who has a two goal head start.
Calling an International striker who has scored goals in PL and in the Champions League ****e. You dont know what you are talking about. But your probably one of them fans that will accept us buying Ruiz for 10m and never have seen him play.

I can't believe that the best news of the transfer deadline day is that Simmo hasn't left. I mean I know he has played ****e this season but we are desperately low on defensive cover.

Very disappointing day in more way's than one.

Our main priority, a striker, completely ignored and not even a bid put in for one. Does Pardew talk to Ashley and tell him how important it is to our prospects to have somebody that can score on a regular basis?

    Gervinho - Failed
    Gameiro - Failed
    Erding - Failed
    Miaga - Failed
    Cisse - Failed
    Ruiz - Failed
Roux - Supposedly given to us and was a backup plan and we still didn't sign him!

MsiDouglas was ****ing raging on how we didn't get any strikers in and says that our plan was all wrong <doh>

Shows how much ambition Ashley and Pardew have. If Ashley wanted to win something he'd have put money in the pot, and if Pardew had wanted to win anything he'd have badgered Ashley for the money needed to get a top striker in.

Totally agree, I got a bit of a hostile response when I said that a striker was our key area to strengthen after the Santon signing (which was great for us don't get me wrong). We are going to struggle, not relegation form, but after a decent transfer window the lack of a striker has come as a massive kick in the gonads.
