Reported or rumoured target Oliver Norwood has joined Sheffield United. It is a loan deal which will be made permanent for an undisclosed fee in January.

Yep, apparently 2 & 1/2 year deal in January, Sky saying for 2 million, which seems cheap for a man with consecutive promotions under his belt.

    I
I would have liked to see him at Leeds, and not just to double the Paddy quotient. Useful boy. <ok>

No idea where he'd have fitted into the Bielsa 22 though, or at who's expense.,

AS we're playing The Millers (Rotherham United) at the weekend i thought it fitting to talk about them today. I have nothing to say about their team or players as you will have only heard the names of a couple of them like young Vassell. Paul Warne the manager has no money and his squad is thin and he is looking for loan players. What his team do have is battling qualities, teamwork, never say die attitude and believe it or not there's something special about this club, but you make your own mind up in a few minutes:

Rotherham County came into being after the first world war in 1919 a couple of local clubs went bust and amalgamated into Rotherham United. The club did enough to keep afloat and have a bit of success but was always a lower league outfit. They had a legendary goal scorer called Ronnie Moore who came back to the club in 1997 to manage it and Ronnie Moore did nothing but win league titles and cups and got the small club from obscurity up the old first division by doing back to back promotions. They were always favorite for relegation but took some great scalps like leeds, arsenal, Liverpool, man Utd etc and managed to keep themselves in the first division until 2004/5 when they got relegated. Ronnie Moore resigned as he was gutted.

Money problems ensued as the owner was loving big cigars in the top league and big gates against the top teams but was now playing Notts County etc. So in 2006 the owner sells the ground and we know what happens after that, especially when the site is built upon and so no chance of going back there.

Rotherham are also a legendary club because of the amount of points they've had deducted. Over the following few years owners came and went, banks bailed them out, then a new owner comes in again and on and on and on. 2006 they go into administration and recieve a 10-point deduction. but even though they start -10 they reach the play offs but go into administration again and so start the following season on -10 points again and then they get a stroke of luck in 2008 as another new owner comes in but is advised not to come out of administration with a CVA (Remember that shyte don't we under Bates) so because he didnt use that method he was deducted another 10 points the following season

This is one club we should all admire. Once again they are climbing out of the lower leagues and have got to the Championship. Warne the manager uses words like dogged, everything in the club is dogged and this wont be an easy game.

I hope we batter them but I hope we give this small club the respect they deserve and anyone who can put 2 fingers up to buffoons who run the FL are ok in my book

Brum are pressing them, not as well as we do but not bad. Interesting the Sky commentator said ‘like Leeds do’

Swansea coming up and lots of history between our 2 clubs right back to the days when The Vetchfield was the ground and players like Tony Curtiss graced both grounds. A shrewd move took Swansea to where they are today from a small club drifting along. When a businessman actually makes a change that works and Hew Jenkins got involved. The Vetch was sold and the Liberty Stadium was built and was almost given to the club so that the proceeds from the sale of the Vetch would be used to finance decent players.

We all remember the days that both clubs were in league 1 and Martrinez was manager and we got beat down there in a classic 3-2 but we had players like Robinson and Beckford in those days and think fat Andy Robinson scored, and Garry Monk scored for them ffs. To 2011 when we were ripped apart down there 3-0 when they had Brendan Rodgers as manager. Note that they were building by having decent managers in charge and were able to attract good players. They started to bring in players like Michu who smashed it and made Swansea safe in the Premiership.

Jenkins made a few quid from selling the club to the present owners and after a bit of internal upset at Board level they struggled a bit and finally got relegated last season. They do however have a prem quality squad of 29 players which includes the likes of: 2 Ayew brothers, Bony, McBurnie, Routledge, Grimes, Dyer, Carroll, Fer, Naughton and Olsson. and a new manager Graham 'Harry' Potter. Yet to be seen if he will be the manager Swansea expect him to be but early days.

Leeds Utd are 2nd in the league with a positive goal difference of +7 and 9 points
Swansea are in 6th place with a positive goal difference of +2 and 7 points.

Swansea are one of the pre season favs for promotion, this should be a cracker and will tell us a lot more about Bielsaball and how we compare

2 Ayew brothers, - not at the Club this season
    Bony, - injured
    McBurnie, - Championship at best
Routledge, - on his way to QPR
Grimes, - Leeds fans know about him
Dyer, - on his way to Reading
    Carroll - Championship player
    Fer -coming back from injury
Naughton - hasn't played this season
Olsson. - Prem player on his day
new manager Graham 'Harry' Potter. - doing well with a poor hand.

The write up about Huw Jenkins needs updating as well. He didn't lead the Club singlehandedly, plenty of people worked behind the scenes, he was more like a passenger for the majority of our journey.

Still a good write up though. I always look forward to visits from Leeds. It should be a great atmosphere and game, with Leeds favourites at this stage.

    NB: It's Alan Curtis

He came on as a sub against Sheff Utd and Birmingham, playing at left back/left midfield!
