Have a strong feeling we'll get confirmation within the next hour Freeman going to Boro.
£5 mill + add ons. Potential £6-7 mill if Boro are promoted and he plays certain amount of games.

    Taking shelter...

I don't think anyone has castigated Tony over the Freeman rumours but more in general of his handling of affairs

A large part of the debt has been converted to shares, that related to the madness years and FFP (indeed it was converted to try and get out of FFP). But in the last set of accounts, for the year to May 2017, it showed that the shareholders had to pump another £12m in just to hold the net loss to about £8m. Every month they have to stump up more, then convert the loans and the interest on the loans, into shares. In those accounts there were still £46m of convertible shareholders loans (I assume that the £22m converted for FFP comes from that). In that season (2016/17) our gate receipts were £5.2m, and our wage bill (all staff including non players) was £30m. The bulk of our income, £35m of it came from an improved Sky deal for championship clubs including our parachute payments.

The assets of the club are put at about £40m, £25m of which is property, the rest the intangible value of the players.

The shareholders’ stated long term aim for the club, as set out in the accounts released in May this year, is to get it onto a sustainable financial footing*

So the club is still in debt to the owners and entirely dependent on their goodwill not only to continue putting cash in to keep the ship afloat but never asking for any back. I have no sympathy for them, they created this mess, but I respect their decision to accept the responsibility and not walk away. In these circumstances I would be doubting their sanity if they gave us £10m to get a couple more Conor Washingtons. It’s players at the end of their contracts like BFG2, our own kids and kids that other clubs have discarded for us. I suspect even loans will depend on players’ home clubs being willing to pay most of their wages.

    * I’m not an accountant so my reading of the financial statement might be wrong, but I don’t think so.

Providing deal sheet signed before 5pm deadline - it allows additional two hours to get a signing completed.

Hoos: The loan window is key

LEE Hoos has explained QPR’s approach to the summer transfer window after the R’s brought in Toni Leistner while only Alex Smithies left the club, joining Cardiff City in the Premier League.

Following the closure of the transfer window at 5:00 pm on Thursday afternoon, Hoos told www.qpr.co.uk: “A number of our players were the targets of bids but we turned them down as they did not meet our valuation.

“It wasn’t too long ago we had to pay players to leave this club. Now we are turning bids down – bids which are significantly higher than our purchase price for these players. That represents real progress.

The early closure of the transfer window this summer significantly changes the landscape and this can be used to our benefit.

“While supporters will be pleased we kept hold of our targeted players, while also tying down Darnell Furlong and Ebere Eze to long-term contracts, I understand their disappointment that we have not added any further players since the arrival of Toni from Union Berlin.

“However, the early closure of the transfer window this summer significantly changes the landscape and this can be used to our benefit. We are looking to bring loan players in. We can do this until the end of August.

“Clubs who were looking to sell their players on permanent deals will now be looking to loan them out, whereas prior to the window closing this was not an option they were considering.

“We will be looking to add to the squad. We are aware of the areas that need strengthening and we are looking to do that while in keeping with the club’s financial parameters.”
