I hope we aren't running around like a blue arsed fly today trying to get anyone affordable through the door like we have for the past several years. I doubt it somehow. I'd be happy if we left the squad as it is and waited to see which forward we'd like to try and get on loan.

Power was expected to move to another club, but Sunderland have nipped in ahead of them and he’s now headed here instead to put the final touches to a deal which will spell the end of three exciting years for him with the Greater Manchester club. Power was left out of the starting line-up for Wigan’s opening game of the season last week, with manager Paul Cook preferring the experience of former Sunderland midfielder Darron Gibson, and Jack Ross is hoping to take advantage of the player slipping down the pecking order. The 25-year-old has 142 appearances for Wigan since signing from Tranmere Rovers in 2015 and he has a lot of League One experience. Out of 269 senior appearances, 148 of them have been in League One - he has also had a season in both the Championship and League Two. He was a mainstay in the Wigan side that won League One last year and contributed five goals and seven assists over the course of the season. What is he? Holding player? Wide player, or an attacking midfielder? Probing questions Teesidemakem......
Canny montage there fella Apparently he was named after his parents' dog - there is no substitute for class
Well the goals in the clip look decent enough. Nowt wrong with having another attacking midfielder. The more options the better! But that dance? Nope! He needs to leave that in his Wigan locker!
Sunderland are hoping to seal a deal for Wigan Athletic's Max Power before the transfer window shuts. The window for permanent deals shuts at 5pm but after agreeing a fee for the midfielder, the Black Cats hope that a deal can be done. Power would add significant football league experience for Ross, having played over 100 league games for both the Latics and Tranmere Rovers. Sunderland are also hoping to add to their attacking options after Jerome Sinclair suffered a hamstring injury but the loan window will give them time to recruit until the end of the month. Speaking on Thursday afternoon, Jack Ross said: "We may still be able to get a little bit done. Live updates as Sunderland look to strengthen on deadline day "We're working hard. "We may do some business today. "If we had everyone fit we would be in a relatively good position. At the moment, we are a bit light in forward areas. Jerome is out for a few weeks. Charlie is progressing but his return won't be around the corner. "Even if we don't do anything today the pursuit of adding to the forward area will continue in the loan market."
