Richest race of the day is the G3 Ballyroan Stakes at Leopardstown (20:05) but only 4 runners. The most interesting race though is the 0-100 Fillies' Handicap at Haydock (16.10) where all 7 runners are in with a good chance of winning.

Under the Covers won well last time out in a decent time but carries 20lb more than she did that day. No idea what effect that will have on the time but it seems a lot of extra weight to lump along
If we ignore Show Stealer's last run (maybe something amiss) she previously won two 5.5f races at Bath in decent time, and comfortably. She seems very consistent timewise, so should be thereabouts
Magical Dreamer had her hattrick attempt thwarted in a G3 last time out, not disgraced, beaten only 5l and carries 6lb more today. On reappearance (fav) 2nd beaten 2¾l by Sandra's Secret with Show Stealer nearly 7l back in 5th. Show Stealer re-opposes on 4lb better terms
Maid In India was fav and finished last of 7 to Sandra's Secret, 7l behind Gorgeous Noora (2nd) when they met 8 weeks ago. Meet on same terms today. However she has the advantage of a C&D win in a relatively fast time and carries the same weight today
Gorgeous Noora, was fav to beat Magical Dreamer at Newmarket but was beaten 1¾l. 2lb better off today. Won well last time out and before that finished well in front of Maid in India.

The two 3yos Zip Along and Queens Gift have good form in lesser races and their times are not inspiring. They could well be improving but, on the clock, I think they have something to find

Conclusion. This is one of those sprint races where you could make a case for any of them. The only thing that stops me choosing Under the Covers is that 10.0 on her back. So, for me Gorgeous Noora ew seems the best option

Just got the Timeform ratings for that race. Seems Under the Covers has 7lb on the field. Still concerned about the weight though

Usual wealth warning, information received from my mate who hears about this yard’s horses occasionally:

    Newcastle 6:20 – ARAQEEL

Quite frankly looking at the form this appears to be fancied solely because of the ‘unlucky’ fifth last time, it has never run on Tapeta (or any artificial surface for that matter) and has only won once, on heavy ground at Listowel two years ago. Not making much of a case, am I? This is a proper Class 6 sand rat race – the form pick would be Kroy.

    hi fellas!

    sligo,6 40

a weak contest.CIANKYLE couldnt back up his easy win two starts back, when only third last time out,but the form looks much better now,as both the first and second won again since, and hes pretty consistent for this class..
