Rumours do crack me up in the last 24 hours or so of the window. So far today, JWP, Romeu and Forster not at training. Hughes left before training started and left to the coaches? Bid for Celta Vigo player. Leading chase for Ings, and Welbeck due at Staplewood. Jeez I’m knackered.
Knowing Saints, this will be the usual, no signing but we really really did try.
Oh and McQueen of to Bristol City.

He was top in terms of pass accuracy out of the 4 when I posted his stats on here. But I'm not sure how saying he creates chances but loses the ball equates to putting him somewhere that means he can't create as many chances and keeping the ball is more important. I don't like him playing deeper as my biggest concern is him getting run off the ball. Also he needs a fullback running outside him to compensate for his pace a bit. He works well with cedric up until he got injured(chasing a jwp through ball to the byline and sliding into the adverts after the cross) which was when JWP's form taildived IIRC because he had no runners to play through balls to and no target men to aim crosses at. All he had was Carrillo and Redmond.

Not necessarily. Only the very best players cement themselves in a team.

What tends to happen with most is, either a coach finds a place in the team for your particular talent set; or he doesn’t. A lot of that is down to luck, coaches and players being in the right place at the right time.

That's not strictly true is it?, under Puel he started 9 PL games in a row between the start of Feb to the end of April and he started 21 of the last 26 games of that season, but I do accept that MP did play him a bit more from mid season although it is noticeable that he didn't start in the abject displays at Spurs and at home to Leicester.

Pellegrino had left by mid March btw.

I rate JWP at set pieces etc , other than that his all round game just Isn’t good enough IMO. Don’t get me wrong he’s a nice lad, and is a steady PL player , but he’s never done anything to make think he can majorly progress from where he’s at now. I’d sell him if a decent offer came in 100%.

Either way there was minimal variation in his playing time over the two seasons. I wasn't talking about what manager played him specifically, I'm talking about his playtime as a whole. You're looking for a player that just isn't there, the fact that he's being linked with Watford, and not a better club is indicative of where he is as a player. He might come good in a few years time, but from what we've seen so far he's not good enough to play in midfield for a PL club at the moment. He's a good rotation option to have due to his versatility, but that's about it, in my opinion.

I think that we will be silly to cash in now before we even know how good he could be myself, but that's just it, personal opinions.

I wouldn't sell him if it could be avoided, but I wouldn't have him as first choice in midfield. The problem is that he feels he should be first choice at this stage of his career, if we're not going to give him that and he wants to move on then we should sell.
