    All right Albert? Been a while for obvious reasons. Feel free to take the piss, as it's half the fun of footy. Alas for us, what goes round has come round and the six-in-a-row has turned into back-to-back relegations. However, the wheel will turn again, so enjoy it while you can. How do you fancy your chances this term? Fat Mike doesn't seem to be entirely behind Rafa these days, not that I've paid much attention from the depths of League 1...

    Because he's running it as a business, which in itself is not a bad thing - being financially stable, not putting his own money in etc, however no-one else seems to want to play by the same rules so we're left wallowing behind while other clubs spunk off ridiculous amounts of money on the never never

    Exactly - which is why, no matter how hard you want to, you can't use the same rules of good business governance in football because no one else does :steam:

    Ashley has been at the helm for 33% of all the relegations the club has had - In the first 117 years of Newcastle United’s existence, the club suffered just four relegations.

    The last two - just seven years apart - have come under Mike Ashley’s ownership, you'd think that this fact alone should speak volumes on how the club should be rub.

    We clearly can't go back to the days of Shepherd etc nearly bankrupting the club in the pursuit of glory, and I suspect that the fact that the last time we spent big, we were relegated anyway has soured Ashley's views on the whole subject

    But Rafa is expensive ..................... and Ashley will be looking at last seasons 10th and calculate that a cheaper manager will get us to at least 17th, and that will do him nicely.

    Hey Sid. Hope all is well mate. This season I honestly think we will go down. So I suppose we’ll see you boys again next season. :(

    Good to see some of the Mackem old guard popping over as the likes of you, Nads, Syd are always value for money and pretty honest in your appraisals.

    Sadly the last couple of years has created a handful of over sensitive snowflakes over on the dark side so all we’ve seen is meltdowns, offer of fights in mcDonalds and flounce offs.
