I will miss the 2nd half ............but when we land I am fully expecting to read on here the joy of our 3-1 win
Sunday 12th August 2018 13:30 Southampton v Burnley Referee: Graham Scott Assistants: Constantine Hatzidakis, Daniel Cook Fourth official: Lee Probert
I can’t get to this one as ironically I’ll be visiting rellies in Lancashire, not a million miles from Burnley!
I'm there. Dell bar (outside Kingsland stand) from about 11:30 for all day breakfast and a wine. 4-1 to us, Gabbi hat trick. No, I haven't had the wine already.
I somehow don't think this game will be much of a spectacle and in line with tradition I do not expect us to win it as it is an opening game. I therefore am expecting sod all so I will not be disappointed and who knows I could be surprised. You will note that I have now lived in Southampton long enough to become a miserable negative moaning old bastard just like all the bloody true born Sotonians who moan and complain about anything and everything even though they live in a great city.
We park at St Mary's church or the Hub (just down from the church), both £5 on match day - gets a bit tight about 45 mins before kick off though
I usually park at the Hindu Temple car park in Radcliffe Road, which is 5 minutes walk from SMS. Costs £7, or it did last season. If you drive along Northam Road towards the bridge past Britannia Road, take the 3rd left into Union Road and the car park is opposite the end of the road.
Is where everyone meets up kid friendly as I’ll be bringing the lad to the games i can make this season.
We have razor ruddock in the Saints bar for this one so at least that should be entertaining! I'm expecting a game with three goals.....
i think we should play with a team that contains a mixture of defenders, mid fielders and attackers with a good goalie behind them and everyone focus on putting the ball in the oppositions net and at the same time making sure we dont have the ball going in our own goal. No sir, no goals in our net. Not this day. tough game this. I wouldnt be disapointed with a point unless we are winning until the last couple of minutes and then concede. In that scenario I woud be a bit miffed. We conceeded a lot of late goals last season so I hope we dont keep doing that.
Do I go to this one or not? Can't seem to find a seat I like so might have to sit somewhere different if I do.
