I just hope we can get at least one decent midfielder and forward soon otherwise it's going to be a tough old season.
Thinking more on Never do. Don't want him. Too old, will want too much money and doesn't score enough. Shades of Lambert and Fowler spring to mind. Must learn from those mistakes. If Burnley sign Crouch as has been suggested then Sam Vokes would be a good move. Edit - predicted came up with Never do in first line. Should have been Negredo. That must be an omen.
WoL says N'Diaye going to Malaga. To play, not on holiday. WoL also says we'd are looking at Tom Huddlestone. A very good player in his time. Past his best but would give us some culture and ball skills in midfield. Thoughts?
Liked Huddlestone at Spurs. Quick thinking passer of the ball but was never fast over the ground and won't have got any faster since. If we're looking for someone to put his foot on the ball and pick a pass, he could be right for us. Won't add any pace to the midfield but he has something about him that we lack - a genuine playmaker.
Desperate times call for desperate measures . Are we really going to sign Negredo (no) Huddleston (no). It just seems there's a load of names , being thrown up . 50 hours left of the window. Not long to wait , to be either 1 pleased . 2 disappointed. 3 nonplussed. That's if we sign anyone . I think Warnock as got Halford on speed dial , so all is not lost .
In Halford's case, slow dial. P.S. How do you change nonplussed to plussed? Is it the same as going from disgruntled to gruntled?
There may still be opportunities with Bournemouth players as I think they've just picked up yet another midfielder. Snodgrass could be reignited perhaps? Apparently Villa are looking to rival us for Negredo now too. I still have faith that Warnock will come good with at least 1 midfield signing but I do wonder if we've missed out on an experienced striker though.
It’s a bit weird after the flurry of picking up some of the cream of the championship NW has hit a brick wall trying to get the additional players he needs. Maybe it’s not wanting to play for NW or the idea of playing for a relegation favourite but more likely it’s the ‘filthy lucre of money’ as Malcolm McLaren once said. As I’ve said I’m not expecting any additions before Thursday but do hope to see some loan deals done by the end of August but these can only stay after then if actually purchased ( as I read the rules)
WOL saying we're linked with Harry Arter at Bournemouth. Thought this was a rumour a while ago but with the Cherries signing Lerma he could now be available. Fee quoted as £10 million though.
How about this bloke then......... http://www.insidewalessport.co.uk/c...eal-betis-midfielder-victor-camarasa-reports/
Sounds like a better option than Damour - does that mean that Gunner is going to be anchoring the midfield?
It's going to go down to the wire. Just hope we don't bring bodies in for the sake of it. The window started really well and I'm pleased with what I've seen and heard about the 4 signings made. Then went too long without sorting the middle of the park.
From Twitter... Lots of interest surrounding Harry Arter. Clubs interested are Cardiff, Newcastle, Boro and Stoke. Player has chosen Cardiff and will have a medical at the club today. All going well should be announced tomorrow. Victor Camarasa will fly from Seville to Cardiff today to complete his season long loan move from Real Betis. The player turned down the chance to join Brighton in January.
Could be the answer if true. Arter would bring some vision to the midfield which could be the difference given the pace we now have.
