Sky really harsh on Burke, I thought he had a good game... Hull City: Marshall (5), Lichaj (6), De Wijs (4), Burke (5), Kingsley (6), Batty (7), Henriksen (7), Bowen (8), Kane (7), Evandro (7), Campbell (6)
You bastard. You utter bastard. After years of counselling and locked in quiet rooms to enable me to expunge the memory, you, you bastard had to bring it back.
Some dick behind me was giving him some right abuse, and sadly, I was behind the goal in the north. He mixed it up a bit though, threw in a bit of casual racism and homophobia for good measure, I might go back in the west for the next one, can't be doing with it.
Did anyone else see that Milinkovic ****up coming? As soon as Henriksen squared it you just knew we were going to play our way out of it. Henriksen's pass was slightly behind him which slowed him down a bit, then his touch was no good which made it worse, their guy gets back and he still doesn't get a shot off. So predictable.
Good summing up. Nigel Adkins admitted his Hull City side were the architects of their own downfall after Monday night's 3-1 home defeat to Aston Villa. Despite taking the lead after just six minutes at the KCOM Stadium through Evandro, the Tigers conceded three avoidable goals which saw the 2018/19 season curtain-raiser end on a disappointing note. “We can’t concede goals like we did and expect to win games of football,” he said. “I thought we started well and there was a good energy about us. There was a good energy inside the Stadium. “We were on the front foot and it was a good finish from Evandro to give us the lead, a lead we thoroughly deserved after the way in which we’d started the game. “We then conceded a goal from a corner where we’re marking man-to-man and haven’t won the header, which allowed them back into the game. “Their goalkeeper then made a fantastic save to deny Jarrod Bowen after what was a lovely boy of play from us, so I think we were a little bit unlucky to go in 1-1 at the break. “Again I thought we started the second half well and could have gone 2-1 up after Jarrod was again denied by the keeper. “I made two positive changes by bringing Nouha Dicko and David Milinković on to see if we could push on for the win but we then conceded two poor goals in quick succession, which allowed Aston Villa to put themselves in a possession to go on and win the game. “Having said that, we could have quite easily scored four goals in the closing period of the game. We had some good chances, but we just didn’t take them.” Despite the end result, Adkins insists there were still positives to take his from his side’s performance in the opening hour of the game. “It was disappointing not to come away with the victory but I think everyone could see that we’ve got an honest, hard-working group here,” he added. “There were some good things that we did in the game. The goals we conceded were bad goals to concede, but you could see the spirit of the players “We need to keep that spirit. It’s the first game of the season and we’ve got a long, long way to go. “Yes, we’re disappointed with the result tonight but we’ve got to pick ourselves up and get ready for the next game. “In the cold light of day I’ll reflect on it but we played some good football at times. The new players settled in and they’ll only get better, which gives us something to build on.”
“Yes, we’re disappointed with the result but we’ve got to pick ourselves up and get ready for the next game". I think we're going to have to get used to hearing this...
I repeat what I said before the game...poor defence.....unfit midfield and no attack...the midfield looked so tired after 10 mins of 2nd half
Exactly. Around the same area they scored two of their goals. Yet he didn't shoot. And then played a poor pass.
When any keeper makes an error he gets hammered for it, not unique to Marshall. He knows he should have done better, and I expect him to keep his place against the Wendies.
Adkins has already said he'll keep his place, along with de Wijs, despite him saying that they were responsible for the poor goals conceded.
Henriksen was generally poor all night, captains normally lead by example, it showed in plenty of other performances too!
He kept shouting nonsense to Elmo about Ehab ****ing him up the arse and occasionally accused a Villa player of being a suicide bomber, but I never quite figured out who it was aimed at. Randomly shouted about Leeds being ****e from time to time as well, he was basically just a bit of knob.
Sadly I think you're right For his sake he needs a change of scenery I think, although I can't see that happening. If he keeps playing then I'll support him, and hopefully he'll turn around, but I can see Long starting the game after next if he doesn't play well next game (I think he will start next game though)
