I think he was from Hull, not certain though. Just had a look on wiki and he was in fact born in Hull.
We still 'have' him, and he's often in attendance at our away games in the south. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Roy North took my auntie out a couple of times. When I say "took out" I mean for a drink and not as in like a trained assassin.
Alan Plater, though he was born in Jarrow grew up in Hull and stayed. Went to Kingston High, and my mother in law used to clean for him.
Big City fan too. When I was involved with the Hull, Hell @ Happiness fanzine he sent us a donation. Followed City through all the **** times too. Wrote a couple of City plays and named some of the characters in his plays and television productions after City players. Nice bloke too. Roy North is also a big fan, met him a few times at away games. Knows his City stuff. Rupert Creed is a fan too.
He lived on Picky Road not far from John Aldertons parents and David Whitfields house which was called Cara mia.
Roy is still a member of the Hull City Southern Supporters and we still see him at games and the odd TV screening. He's City through and through. Getting him chatting about games in the 50s and 60s is great. His wife once sold Florent Malouda a house, too.
David Whitfield's house called Cara Mia was in Kirk Ella, in fact, it's still there and still called Cara Mia...
I saw Alan outside of the Roundhouse in Camden, maybe a year of two before he passed away. I went over and we talked City for a while. Nice guy. He seemed to like a cigarette. he must have had half a dozen in the time I was chatting to him.
