Match Day Thread Hull City v Aston Villa

Adkins has been to Reading Vs Derby, Brentford Vs Rotherham, and Leeds Vs Stoke this weekend.

 

HT 0-1, Bruce subs three attacking players for three defensive ones, we equalise and press for a winner but it ends all square.

I've not taken too much notice of City comings and goings. Just can't be bothered with it all, however start of the season and as usual I'm looking forward to my Saturdays being taken up with football, the ups and the down begin. I know I will not recognise hardly any of the team so not sure what to expect. Have no clue whether we can be competitive or not, just hoping for a good game and if we lose please let it be by only one or two goals.

 

I don't think any of us know what to expect, with the team he is putting together it could go either way. Chances are it will be an up and down sort of season, some good results but also bad ones. That seems to be the nature of a young group, lack of consistency.

 

An abundance of doom n gloom,all we can ask for is 100% effort from the starting 11,it's far too early to start writing us off!!

 

My one criticism of Bruce during his time with us is the players never seemed capable of playing at full match pace until the final whistle.

I’m hoping that’s the case tonight and fitness will come into play. That was impressive with the white ****e yesterday with them playing high tempo for the full duration- Bielsa had the players doing triple sessions daily so they could play his high tempo pressing game.

I hope Nigel has our players just as fit.

 

It will be interesting to see if they can maintain that throughout the season, or will injuries start to take their toll.

 

He said it's the first season for years so not exactly constant.

It really is bad when you look at it. Henriksen gets injured and our midfield is just a rookie and Kevin bloody Stewart. All our signings have been token gestures and there's still far too few of them in the squad. Adkins will be livid at how it's gone

 

5-4 City, De Wijs scoring all 9 goals.

 

Dull 0-0 for 85 mins, then Villa will nick one. De Wijs to get sent off. Stewart to come on and be ****e.

Im not entirely sure why that shop is still open. It’s always empty with the 2-3 staff just standing around bored.

Leeds started well last season and then finsihed not much higher than us

They did look the best team by far yesterday though from the opening games, won't last i expect
