Now in Montalivet in Aquitaine.

Was not far from you the other day, also went through Laval.

We headed to the Atlantic, you to Dordogne by the sound of it?

 

Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne mate ... absolutely superb ... river is incredible ... there is a crepes restaurant in the medieval bit ... best I've ever tasted ... if you are on a driving holiday like us, well worth calling in on your home journey ...

We are now in a very small village between Cordes-sur-Ciel and Narjac ... converted farmhouse and barn owned by the missus aunt with swimming pool ... they aim to retire here in a few years ... very peaceful ... the village doesn't even have shops ... nearest about 10k .. away ... complete chill heaven...

Home journey is via Santander, can't be arsed driving all the way back!

General gist is start at St Malo or Caen and head south west. End in north Spain and come back from there.

 

Absolutely hanging and at work and sun burnt to **** too.

Off to the beach today. Will no doubt be chasing the little one around whilst the missus goes surfing.
I'll get my chance later tonight when all the Tourists have ****ed off, nice sunset surf

 

The sea is too cold here and we didn't bring wetsuits. Great planning!

To be fair to me, it's usually ok to spend and hour or so in without needing a suit but it very definitely isn't at the moment.

It's ok though, as soon as your'e out of the water you're warm.

 

Sea is around 18 deg down here atm. Still chilly and definitely wetsuit needed for surfing. Don't mind splashing around in the shorebreak without one on, but 2 hours in deeper water would give you nips like coat hangers.

Doing some gardening this morning.

Was going to try and play golf later but yesterday got stung on the big toe which is now an even bigger toe.

Almost beer O'clock ... sitting around the pool just the 4 of us and the dog ... temp is 38c .. phew ... eldest daughter flies in to Toulouse in a few days to join us for the rest of the hol ... perfect ... and makes up for all that occurred last summer when we had to miss doing exactly this...

 

34 here for later today, nice infinity pool looking out over the Atlantic, off there in a moment.

These salt water pools are so much nicer that the chlorine pools.
