You need to review that. The meet ups are part of matchdays. Sorry all joking aside that’s just wrong.
For what it's worth as a non regular poster, ristac is the most genuine guy on here. I sometimes disagree with his opinions on football but unlike everyone else here (myself included) he is not fixed in his views. He is man enough to say I used to think this but I was wrong and now I think this. And surely it's not much to ask for 1 thread to remain on topic and so what if it's only 4 pages. 4pages of quality sure beats 216 pages of inane drivel.
So you ain’t going to reconsider the meet up thing? Ok. At least we know who you are targeting the site at.
The site is for everyone. You know that. You also know the Leeds mods bend over backwards to try and make the board the best it can be.
I absolutely think that arranging to meet up at a match is entirely the correct subject for the matchday thread. Let’s put it this way, during and after tomorrow’s game the opinions of those who see it live will be far more valid of mine or yours watching on tele/stream. Letting them make the arrangements is a small inconvenience. Hopefully even you might agree?
Matt with all due respect if you'd had multiple posts removed how would you feel ? Not one or two but all, bar one virtually meaningless one. It's all very well mods saying there are plenty of threads to post on but when all threads are quiet and one is alive it makes no sense to make posts where no one is looking. Plus the posts were in the main relevant to the match and the people going to it, or the general feeling about the match day thread in it's present form. Additionally it's not really feasible when in an exchange of posts with 3/4 people to request one of them move to the meet up thread to discuss a certain aspect. When a few posters dropped out I did make the move to Glory's Saloon and Shak's joined me there. So was it moderation or obliteration ? I appreciate moderating the forum is a time consuming task but so is trying to post things that will be of interest as you well know.
The at are the new posters ell wants. So far your new policy has managed to lose one that goes to every home game contributes to the board and is a big part of the off board social scene. What have you gained?
I have to go to sleep now. Try not to start another world war while I am away. Thanks for keeping me occupied today.
Hey Jamster, I'd be thinking : Oh yes, the mods did ask to keep the matchday thread on topic only... I know, I'll post on one of the other 14, 255 threads and keep the match day thread on topic in an attempt to bring new posters on board. That is what I would think pal!
Glory's Saloon and Fridays Breakfast Debate have had interaction all day. All I wanted is to keep one thread on topic. All posters, if I am being unreasonable, please tell me. I will not take offence.
Yes even i agree that arranging meet up on a match thread is not too far off topic, but if I was going to the meet up the 1st place i would go is the meet up thread
As observations 1. I haven't seen any published rules that say threads have to stay on topic 2. The "management" have the right to delete anything they don't like 3. Content cannot be defamatory, abusive, hateful, threatening, spam or spam-like, likely to offend, contains adult or objectionable content, contains personal information of others, risks copyright infringement, encourages unlawful activity, or otherwise violates any laws. 4. The site earns income from advertising and a cursorory look at views and replies since the on topic regime has been introduced shows that the interest in the match day thread is falling. Take from this what you like
