Same **** different season, lacked movement lacked ideas, work it out wide and put it on the head of the big man, might be a long season.
I was expecting a comment from anyone today saying QPR were bright young and full of ideas etc etc just to prove me totally wrong as I usually am Bob will give us the story on here that’s what I am going by
I was there..... no change to formation, no change to tactics, BFG played well very composed most of the time but no left foot rest of the team pretty much where we left off last season
Unbelievable amount of cheating / time wasting by Preston in last 15 mins But that doesn't disguise what was a lethargic performance by us for most of the match At least there were a lot of draws elsewhere today
Brentford, Wigan and Bolton as top three. Don’t think we’ll see that at the end of the season. We’ve got our first game under our belt - now the dissection and correction for our next game.
One game gone, the usual suspects whining, the usual doomsayers spouting and the usual glass half full brigade being positive. We went to a ground where we haven’t won since Moses was wearing shorts, where the home side basically play anti-football and squeeze a spawny 1-0. We had chances but couldn’t convert, their keeper made a worldy save by all accounts from Sylla, yes they had more possesion but did nothing with it, we will be ok, we have a fairly young inexperienced side who will grow and get better. We might not set the world on fire , but ff’s lets at least give it ten games before we all become doctors and pronounce the victim dead !!!!
Obviously disappointed at the result, but its only the 1st game so let's see where we are after 5 games..hopefully we will get a striker in on loan sooner rather than later as we are desperately lacking quality in this position.
I actually think Brentford might very well be there or thereabouts this season. Though it pains me to admit it.
They deserve to be. A well run club. Sounds like we we played the role of soft southerners against Preston again. They’re just a very dislikeabke side so it’s annoying we, and seemingly referees, play into their hands.
Two options: 1. Young team with a new coach with new ideas against a grizzly mean team, learning as they go give it 10 games 2. Groundhog Day no change doomed. I favour 1.
If you ship Freeman out you will struggle, the German lads not bad but Steve may have his work cut out
Woke up to see the result........ disappointing but probably expected. Next game is another opportunity.
Sadly in the Championship there are many 'grizzly mean teams' and good passing teams. We need to work out where we get our points from.
By learning and getting better. Early days and we have a better coach than last year. The championship is incredibly competitive but the quality is low. ****ing hell its Wittgenstein.
Just scanned through this thread after a long day at work. Sounds like it was a drab start to the season, but Mclaren reckons we will improve. Here's hoping.
