I believe our new kids make the difference. Smithies and Robinson we will miss but in Leistner we have new master in the house!
We just need to score more than we concede In the same game preferably Then again, you'll win nothing with kids apparently...
Talksport ...slightly better 19th https://talksport.com/football/efl/406201/championship-super-computer-predicts-table-season-2018-19/ I perfer the BBC one too
Igor "I believe our new kids make the difference" Hope you are right in an Alan Hansen type of way as he described Fergie's Fledglings many moons ago. At youth play with no fear and maybe...just maybe youth is what Rangers need to progress
I think having a youthful squad is great but I do worry that we don't have that older player to rally the troops and keep heads from dropping when things aren't going our way. Why isn't Clint hill a few years younger?
Toni, Lynch, Baptiste, Matt Smith, Luongo, Scowen all fit the bill. Ned was hardly the most vocal of leaders.
Squad depth in general is our issue, not just at the back. An injury or two and we are deep in the brown stuff. We need to strengthen at the back and up front badly. As it stands I am guessing we will end up where we were last season...in that ball park anyway, which is a worry.
As well as the 3 relegated teams predicted by Sky Sports, I can see us finishing ahead of Rotherham, Blackburn, Birmingham, Wigan and Ipswich so my money is on us finishing 16th. Hopefully, with a couple of late signings, some McClaren magic and some blossoming youngsters, we can do a little better than that.
Wasn't we supposed to get relegated last year? I think they get some junior reporter to make these predictions up in his/her lunch hour.
We will stay up, we will possibly make play offs, we will beat Forest at theirs, we will get revenge on Millwall and we will do the double over the swine from down the road at Brentford ( I know cause I had a jimmy riddle of blue and white pee on their new ground whilst escorting a 100 tonne piledriver out ) they have been jinxed by pure 100% QPR urine FOREVER !!!!!
I think (hope? prey? believe?) there is a pool of teams in worse shape than we are - similar to last season. What we need to do is get a distance from that dwindling pool by improving our weaknesses (defence/scoring) - not too confident that is going to happen this season now. I think perhaps the FFP decision is blinkering the Sky/Talksport predictions and ignoring we have a relatively settled, if young, squad who will have at least gained from their experiences last season. So I think we will end up around 15th/16th with some up and down moments in the season. Shame really as I would have liked to have seen us move up into the top half with some investment.
Hard to get anywhere with no improvements to last year's squad and a weaker defence and the possibility of more players being sold. 21st might be an achievement...
