Newcastle fans have a right to be concerned over the future of Rafa. Last nights post match interview demonstrated just how frustrated his is with the Newcastle boards lack of urgency in the transfer market. Listening to that interview one is left with the impression that it is not a question of if Rafa will walk - more of a question of when. Upwards of 20 mil was banked by the sale of Mitrovic. Good business? Yes -but only if Fulham were required to pay the money as a lump sum. How is spreading the payments - as requested by Ashley - over a four or five year period going to help in bringing in new players? Reports on sky are suggesting that Newcastle are sitting on a profit of 45 mil on past transfer dealings.Where is that money? As things are looking you are in for a difficult season.,thanks to your dysfunctional board of directors. You deserve better than an owner who appears to be more interested in the fortunes of Debenhams and the House of Frazer than the fortunes of NUFC!
We're in for another last minute transfer day. It's like Russian roulette. At least this has put the misplaced faith that a few fans had on the "every last penny" quote into perspective - a leppard doesn't change his spots. Lies wins the day.
JH - we do not have a board of directors. We have Lee Charnley. There is no other director at NUFC. We have no sporting director, no commercial director, no finance director. I cannot state strongly enough how poorly managed this club is, it's a dictatorship in effect.
**** me I didn't know who he was so this got me thinking?? an extract from the local paper Ronnie Gill 1. What is Justin Barnes’ role at the club? And is he an official employee? For 18 months now, Ashley’s close aide Justin Barnes has been involved in the day-to-day running of Newcastle. Barnes - who has been described as the Sports Direct magnate’s “fixer” - has been present at a host of matches at St James’ Park and it is understood that he has played a decision-making role at the club. Crucially, managing director Lee Charnley is believed to need to run large financial transactions past Barnes before they are approved. There have even been suggestions that Barnes is attempting to make the club ‘ready’ for a potential takeover, given that Ashley has placed the Magpies up for sale. But his presence on Tyneside has never been publicly confirmed by Newcastle; nor has his exact role been acknowledged. It is not even clear whether he is paid by the Magpies , or is employed by one of Ashley’s other firms. This is something which keeps bubbling away - and, until it is commented upon, it will remain an issue which needs addressed. ********************************************************************** https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/what-justin-barnes-role-7-14611683
Exactly - everyone has been pissing and moaning about Charnley but this dickhead is the real problem Penfold can't even crap without this guys permission....
The puzzling thing is getting fees for outgoing players in instalments. I know this happens a fair bit in football but we are reportedly asking for deals to be done this way. Now, if Ashley is stockpiling the TV cash to pay off his loans at some point (and hopefully reduce the asking price for the club) then you'd expect him to want the money in straight away. You wouldn't think he'd leave that cash from player sales to the next owner, should there be one, so it makes you think he's not going anywhere. Perhaps it's as simple as we got the best price by allowing instalments to be made? The bloke is an enigma, as well as being the world's biggest ****.
It just doesn't make sense. I could understand it if the buying clubs are asking for a staggered payment plan as an option but for us to be actually suggesting it is highly unusual.
The most likely answer is often the right one. The most probable scenario here is he does not want Benitez to spend, primarily, with the other reason being in preparation for relegation. A businessman’s way of thinking “how do I make relegation less financially painful”. A football mans anawer is to invest a smartly as you can ahead of the season. His answer is stash some money away to lessen the impact when it happens. Guys a ****ing idiot.
Ashley spends little, takes yearly payments for our sales and then posts accounts showing massive losses when his gamble fails. Doesn't add up. Where's our income going? I think we know.
If it’s not going toward his loan, safe to assume he has no intention of selling and it’s just another Bishop sound byte designed to get fans off his back.
The most likely answer for me is they are trying to constructively dismiss Rafa. Ashley probably looks at his £4m/£5m wages and thinks "I can trim the costs here and get someone in to do the same job for £0.5m".
Not sure, the contract extension offer(s) says otherwise and that seems very genuine. But maybe it’s a very recent development and you’re right.
And if anyone doesn't agree then just look at the overall results in the period pre-Kenedy to the period afterwards...
I have almost stopped caring ,. It might have been better to do a Leeds and fight to get better from then. This guy is a cancer. It's pointless protesting, he doesn't care or listen. Just sit back and watch things happen . I'm tired of talking about it. I really hope he contracts a fatal illness.
