I guess this price tag will deter DF from pursuing any interest, too Real Madrid have put a £670m price tag on 32-year-old Croatia midfielder Luka Modric, named player of the 2018 World Cup, to deter Inter Milan from making any approach. (Mirror) How long before a top player is deemed worth a billion?
I have mentioned this before but I would have thought that if the likes of Oliviera, Pinto and Martin were still here at the end of next week it would seriously risk a budget overspend particularly bearing in mind the size of the squad, Naismith still counting salary wise as a player and Jarvis who we can do nothing about
Agree, but no way out of this now is there? Otherwise, all of them would have gone last season, or this Summer. They all want to leach. Good to see you posting again 1950.
Oliveira, Pinto and Martin are players under contract. The first is disaffected and that happens with players. He was our main striker last season and that worked out badly for all concerned. Hopefully we'll be able to sell him in the next six days, but if not, we have until the end of August to find an RvW type loan. If neither of those things happen, he'll remain as our fourth striker until January. The same is true of Martin, who SW signed on for two more years, perhaps to keep some continuity during a major upheaval, particularly for the younger players. He is now part of the U23 squad as a sort of 'player coach' and Matt Gill says that is working well. In any case, his new contract will be in line with the wage budget, so I can't see there is a huge problem. Pinto has been out with an injury, but he is training now and should be available soon. Meanwhile, Marshall, Aarons and Passlack are providing cover. Pinto is still a primary RB option and I doubt his wages are crippling for the club. Surely all these such situations have now been factored into the budget with the money which has been received and will be received from the Pritchard, Maddison, Murphy and Watkins sales. Edit: SW seems pretty relaxed about it all: http://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city/webber-doesn-t-want-to-limit-ambitions-1-5637785
I'm not calling bullshit but Leeds are apparently after Klose for £4m. The writer thinks he's German for a start. https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/l...olid-foundation-to-win-promotion-this-season/
Woodburn on for Blades debut Sheffield United 1-1 Swansea Sheffield United introduce their new loan signing Ben Woodburn from the bench in place of David McGoldrick. The Liverpool and Wales forward is a real talent and one to watch in the Championship this term.
Norwich tracking Celtics 20 year old midfielder Regan Hendry. One report saying he is training with us, but this appears just a rumour at the moment t. Highly rated by Rodgers.
