That's because we don't have any good players that the top six want anymore, they have had them all and thats why we are were we are

 

Where are we?

 

Lower midtable/relegation candidates with a only a few players with genuine quality that could play at a higher level, surrounded by players that aren't.

 

Remains to be seen doesn’t it? I’m optimistic until there’s no reason for optimism any longer. It looks to me like there’s plenty of quality in the individuals and Hughes looks to have them working well together.

Currently cause for optimism.

 

Always enjoy that....can't tell you how many times I have watched the Swansea highlights.

 

Shane is still a very good and useful squad option for coming off of the bench in the second half to stretch defences and an out ball at places like the Etihad.

Agree with you....we have talent...need Hughes to get the team to work together. I think the team (after last season's fright) will be up for it. Important thing is to get a good start, but not to panic if we don't. We have to beat the other midtable candidates....something we were poor at last season. A draw is OK, but wins are better.

 

Hypothetically speaking, as a fan of a football club you are looking to choose between two strikers.

Striker number one is 31, quick, relies on getting fouled a lot, relies on balls over the top, but can’t hit the goal from 6 yards and has the longest goal drought in EPL history.

Striker number two is 22, also quick, can hold up the ball, has a good shot from range, is a threat from set pieces and can be expected to get 6-10 goals a season.

Which one do you go for?

I can't tell you that, no. I can tell you that we are going to ship a lot of goals this season, unless we sign a new centre back. We can't afford to play 2 of Stephens/Hoedt/Bednarek together because they're just not good enough for this level. Our options going forward aren't all that exciting either. I said we'd struggle last season and I got the same sort of replies that I just got, so forgive me if I trust my judgement over people on here.

It seems that people think beating Celta's rotated side in the second half last night has given people a false sense of confidence. They were far superior in the first half, especially when you consider they're a couple of weeks behind in their preseason.

 

What's your point? Did I deny that?
