A bit worrying that he is our only capable striker at this level - fantastic player but with his injuries you dont want to rely on him. Hopefully we bring one more in and sell Long. I'd lile Gabbi to get another chance to show what he can do
Armstrong has excited me the most, he is always looking to do something positive something we sorely lacked at AM last season.
I don't count Long any more, so it's literally just Austin and Gabbi for a whole season in a two striker system. Not gonna work.
Picking a starting XI for Burnley isn't going to be that easy We've got 5 CBs who could all consider themselves to be potential starters (Yoshida, Vestegaard, Hoedt, Stephens, Bednarek) Full backs probably sorted but Targett's made a good case tonight! Central midfield, 2 our of Romeu, Lemina, Davis, JWP, Hojbjerg (+Reed) Attackers, 3 out of Armstrong, Redmond, Elyounoussi, Long, Austin, Gabbiadini (+Sims, Gallagher etc.) There's going to be a few big names not even making the bench
Shane will always be a good bench option when the game gets stretched in the second half but shouldn't be a regular starter. Steven Davis, unfortunately is just not the same player he was a couple of seasons ago and I think that we have better options to start than him now.
That's a lot of minutes required though. We could just play a one striker formation like everyone else.
