I don't have shutters. I have now given up and come back into the air con apartment. Add ten years? bloody heat is knocking me for six.
May have an insight why the frogs built the old houses with 1m thick walls My houses are all very old you want to try drilling through them as I have ... last week I took out some stones as making a new doorway some of the bloody rocks weighed over 60kg Seriously the heat is insane is it not 38-40 air temp I equate to 48 in the sun if not more ... melted the dashboard on my Espace last year as I get real deadly hotspots in the Languedoc micro climates all of my French friends have summer houses in the CAROUX mountains next to my gaff I see why now ... I will be looking at property myself Everything over there is at an extreme in the summer already missing it and the weather in Kingston seems warm and comfortable here If you are touring then head east Nimes Montpellier Beziers head in land from the flatlands and you will discover some the most remarkable villages on the planet Where you are currently I would seriously nip across to the best kept secret going Corsica I fly over there regularly for the weekends from most southern French airports €40 a pop As an island it has everything
This left-wing article makes much of the "anti-semitic right". How ironic if the author is a Corbyn supporter...
How ironic also that both Nazism and Fascism were born on the left. Both described themselves as forms of Socialism and were rabidly anti Capitalist, anti Church and anti monarchy. As for Corbyn - the whole thing is being exagerated to damage him and to stifle legitimate criticism of Israel. Apparently it is racist to describe the policies of a country which has a 'segregated road network', a 'dual justice system' and a 'Jewish nation state' (which entrenches ethnic inequality in law) as racist. I would raise 2 questions here. 1. Why is every criticism of Israel or Zionism viewed as anti Semitic ? and 2. Why do we have a special ''Code on anti Semitism'' which is different from general laws regarding racial or religious discrimination. Thereby implying that Jews need special protections which eg. Gypsies do not enjoy ?
A three-option referendum doesn't split the Leave vote. It would be on a transferable vote basis If you don't like that, make it No Deal v No Brexit. What do you reckon the result would be then?
Doesn’t answer the fundamental question. The issue is, what does ‘leave’ mean? Walk away with nothing? Break existing agreements? Accept a hard border in Ireland? Accept the loss of farming in the country (not scaremongering, but a valid fear of farmers across the country)? Accept that our road haulage companies will go to the wall ( as some already have as their customers switch to more stable, sustainable EU operators)? Or try and work these problems out before leaving? If we must leave, we MUST sort these and other issues out. That’s the fundamental flaw in the original question: stay meant stay, but leave meant... well, any number of things.
I am not interested in Comrade Corbyn as he has spent a career going against his own country. No one ever mentions the fact that he is more Eurosceptic than all of us Brexit boys on here put together. Corbyn couldn't even show his true beliefs during the referendum, beliefs that are now getting some Labour MP's in trouble and deselection. What does that tell you about his integrity? It's laughable how people keep blaming the Tories/right-wing press, blah blah blah yet time and time again people from the Jewish community (who have no axe to grind with him) keep complaining about him. There is no smoke without fire. Do I think he is a racist? Probably not but he can't handle a situation. It shows he has no leadership skills but also it shows a darker side to him. He will never be PM.
of course you are right all the leave voters are stupid uneducated racist coffin dodgers unless they change their minds then they will be allright
Willy I was going to discuss Trump and the 4.1% GDP and ask you if you were demonstrating for the future visit of a vile head of state but a more burning question got me thinking after reading your post. You paint a picture of doom and gloom for the UK with Brexit, however how do you think the EU will cope without our specialist products?
I don’t think Fascism in Italy, Spain, Portugal, Croatia, Argentina was anti Church. The Catholic Church was very much in step with them. Perhaps if a few more anti Zionists could distinguish between Zionists and just being Jewish your ‘we’re the real victims, you’re picking on us’ bleats would be unnecessary. I won’t hold my breath, though it seems even John McDonnell has lost patience with this ****, which of course weakens genuine, measured, anti Zionism. Zionism emerged from the desire of Jews to escape endemic Anti-Semitism across Europe, something which it seems is still prevalent, and I for one don’t have a problem with the concept. Of course the issues with the Palestinians, who equally deserve a proper homeland need sorting, and the toxic mix of a nationalist Israeli government and a militant Islamic Palestinian regime in Gaza makes this very unlikely. Better chances were missed in the past.
We tried that. Two years on and it isn't working out too well. Those pesky saboteurs and the enemy within are the ones to blame. Anyone who says it's just too hard, the ones who wanted to leave didn't have a plan just a dream, and we don't really know what sort of relationship we want with the EU afterwards is just a Corbyn sympathiser or a Lib Dem (apparently). Only the true Conservatives who carry the spirit of Britain can be trusted with this operation. And aren't they doing a grand job! And anyone who thinks the solution is Johnson obviously didn't live in London when the lying so-and-so was Mayor. And those who think the solution is Rees-Mogg don't live in the 21st century. Unless, of course, they're just temporary choices to get us to something far more unclear.... Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.
