What a hot bastard that was (as we keep getting reminded).

Anglo Scottish pre season with Boro away (Humberside Supporters did a bus courtesy Mrs Mogg) at the old Ayresome Park. My first time there and they were a good Div 1 team at the time, then NUFC at home midweek (att. 4715 they brought one coach parked down Picky Rd) and SUFC (att. 3615 with usual incidents involving them).

League season kicked off at Hereford on a scorchio August day (lost 1-0, City pitch invasion and incidents en route involving the Selworthy bus on the motorway). Yet a week later we hammered SFC (the then Cup holders!) 4-0 in front of 7774 fans.

Battered and drenched at Burnden Park (1-5) two weeks later then trouble galore on the following Friday night in September against SUFC (who else?) with horses on the terraces.

Two weeks later we signed Bremner. Long hot summer turned into usual topsy turvy autumn.

Possibly the most violent season in our history with Chelsea, Millwall, Forest, Wolves etc overshadowing events on the pitch where we finished a typical 14th.

It seems like only 42 years ago,

Summer of '76, on the hottest day/night of the year I completed the Lyke Wake Walk - 40 miles from Osmotherley to Ravenscar, 22 years of age, fit as **** ...... the blisters soon went but, I still have the coffin badge.

The summer of 76 was my most successful year playing golf. I entered the North of England Daily Mirror match play championship, and through the summer played 16 matches, winning all of them getting to the finals of the last 16 in Carlisle only to fall in the last 4 at the 20th hole after finishing all square after 18. Won the scratch cup and had the best gross score that year at Springhead GC. Fond memories.

I broke my elbow in a most horrific accident, whilst trying to impress the girls on the school bars. It worked, it was a race to puberty after that so they could fight over me.

Take the pain to gain the pleasure, probably why I turned to City.

Glad I'm not the only one.

In the summer of 76 I spent a good amount of time swimming. Can't remember much else.

I can see a resemblance now that you've posed the question but he's actually a German guy named Addie, not Arry.

Left school and spent lots of time at East Park lido watching the girls jump in and out - mainly lying on front to hide constant erection.
