Samuel Saiz (SC Huesca - £3m), Ezgjan Alioski (Lugano - £2m), Mateusz Klich (FC Twente - £1.5m), Hadi Sacko (Sporting B - £1.5m), Jay-Roy Grot (NEC Nijmegen - undisclosed), Pawel Cibicki (Malmo FF - £1.5m), Caleb Ekuban (Chievo Verona - 500k), Felix Wiedwald (Werder Bremen - 500k), Ouasim Bouy (Juventus - free), Vurnon Anita (Newcastle - free), Andy Lonergan (Wolves - free), Pierre-Michel Lasogga (Hamburg - loan), Matthew Pennington (Everton - loan), Cameron Borthwick-Jackson (Manchester United - loan). Adam Forshaw (Middlesbrough - £4m), Tyler Roberts (West Brom - £3m), Laurens De Bock (Club Brugge - £1.5m), Yosuke Ideguchi (Gamba Osaka - 500k). Add on wages, agent fees, contract lengths, for me far too many expensive mistakes
Sky Sports reporting Derby want Waghorn but are aware of breaking fair play rules and are hoping to complete the sale of Vydra to Leeds
Oohhh Can’t pretend that’s not good news if it happens. Anyone know why they want rid of him, I don’t mean to stay under ffp... He is at least as good as what they are getting in.
please log in to view this image Rob Dorsett@RobDorsettSky Update on Waghorn: #dcfc likely to complete deal once Vijdra has left for #lufc. Derby have to be careful of FFP. Initial fee will be £4m, with up to £4m of add ons if Derby get to Prem Lg.
Phil Hay@PhilHayYEP 4m minutes ago Replying to @LJF90 don't think the situation has changed. Leeds still willing to talk if his wage demands drop but the fact that he hasn't had much of a pre-season isn't ideal.
Your post doesn’t relate to my post. I was saying Tc had gone up in my estimation having pointed out some verbose nonesense from one who never makes mistakes.
Not so sure myself. Vydra seems a very in and out of form player in the last few seasons. Last season he was pretty good with 21 goals, but 2 seasons before that he was woeful 2015/16 at Reading 3 goals in 31 Championship outings 2016/17 at derby 5 goals in 33 Looking at his career stats, looks like that is a familiar pattern where he has 1 good season followed by 2 not so good! But - definitely 10 times better than any of the forwards you have on the books at the moment!! Summary Immense at Watford Crap at West Brom Crap at Reading 1 crap season at Derby 1 Good season at Derby
True but Waghorn hasn’t the greatest record and Marriott is a gamble, he could be another Roofe. Not that it really matters as I can’t see Vydra happening still
Waghorn was rubbish for us and I thought he had found his level when he moved to Scotland - didn't really shine in a piss poor league tbh - big downgrade to Vydra imo Marriott - not sure how Peterborough do it , but they seem to turn average forwards into good one's. Only 23 so will only get better!!
I would not be interested in any player who needed persuading to play for Leeds much less someone who signs only for the money.
Chesh is right that I was referring to the previous summer's signings, as evidenced by the first words of the next paragraph "As for this season ...". Academic though, as I hadn't realised the extent of the spending. Seriously didn't. Perhaps I was influenced by the cacophony on here that convinced me we only made cheapskate 'wiki' signings. So thanks to TC for his exemplary knowledge of his team.
