It has been reported that Sunderland, who will play in League One next season after getting relegated from the Championship, are lining up a bid for the Northern Ireland international winger. Are Newcastle fighting a losing battle regarding reported pursuit of £20k-a-week midfielder? However, with Hull and Derby reported to be interested in the Northern Ireland international, Sunderland may find it tough to convince the former Middlesbrough prospect to move to the Stadium of Light and play in League One next season.
I’m with you on this. He’s such a good player. His attitude has cost him in his career he could play, or could have played, Premier League around the time he left Leeds. I know the Aussie league is a shocking standard but 13 in 15 suggests he still knows how it’s done, he could mince the league. Him and Maja up top sounds nice to me.
Bristol Rovers fans saying that we are being linked with their forward, Tom Nichols. His stats look terrible. 1 in 39 last season.
TRANSFER LATEST: Striker incoming as Watford forward Jerome Sinclair finalises Sunderland move Watford forward Jerome Sinclair is on Wearside today to finalise a season-long loan move to Sunderland. By Gav1879 on July 25th, 2018 4:57 am please log in to view this image Photo by Dan Istitene/Getty Images Sunderland’s desperate need for strikers has led to wide-spread panic amongst large sections of our support over recent weeks, and rightly so. With only 19-year old Josh Maja to call upon and with the season’s opener with Charlton Athletic just around the corner, getting bodies through the door ahead of that game has been the utmost priority for Jack Ross, Tony Coton and the rest of Sunderland’s recruitment team. So it will be welcome news, then, for supporters to learn that Watford striker Jerome Sinclair is on Wearside today as he attempts to complete his season-long loan switch from the Premier League club in time for him to feature in Friday’s friendly game against Middlesbrough. The ex-Liverpool forward is currently at the Academy of Light putting the finishing touches to his move, and once one or two minor details are ironed out, he could be unveiled by the club as early as today. please log in to view this image Sinclair’s stop-start professional career has led to frustration from the player over recent years, and it’s understood that he’s very keen to come to the north east and prove himself at a big club - something which has been music to the ears of Sunderland’s management, who have had a clear remit of recruiting players that, first and foremost, want to come here and roll up their sleeves. Does anyone know anymore about him? Is there any deal in place for a permenant move if he plays alright? Is he tall? Is he fast?
All I can tell you is that he's a hair under 6 foot, has a poor scoring record (at some big clubs mind) and is 21 years old.
17 appearances in his career (between Liverpool, Watford and Birmingham . 0 goals. Not exactly an exciting signing but maybe he will do well in this league
Think that's it really - he might not be ready for the premier league yet but he may be a good shout at this level. Grabban couldn't hit a barn door in the premier league. Ditto Vaughan in the championship - Vaughan got 20 odd goals in this division didn't he?
This would be quite a coup I think, never quite made it to the level he was expected to buy likely score for fun at our level. League One we may be but we’d be the biggest club he’s likely to play for.
He's only played those 17 games in fits and starts too. Can't write him off before he's even started.
That's the problem tho with some of our fans write kids off before they've even seen them play. I just wonder sometimes.
