BBC Sport @BBCSport Team Sky's Gianni Moscon has been disqualified from the Tour de France for hitting another rider.
Rest day today, I think SKY will have to start thinking who they are going to ride for Froome or G, certainly will be very interesting to see how this plays out, the last thing they want is for Demoulin to pinch it from them whilst they are concentrating on each other.
I think SKY would like Froome to win it but, I think their professionalism, which borders on ruthless, won't allow sentiment to get in the way of their objective i.e. 'win at all costs'
Both riders making the right noises, team making the right noises, I think they'll be left to duke it out themselves, can't see Dumolin beating either of them
Dumoulin is probably the best time trialer, so if he can gain some time back over the next 3 mountain stages he does have a chance. If Froome and G are allowed to race against each other, that could work in Dumoulin favour. Having said that it is SKY's to lose.
TWT, will certainly be interesting to see how it plays out. At least this year there are 3 possible winners, which makes it much more interesting.
Sky Sports News @SkySportsNews BREAKING: Stage 16 of @LeTour temporarily stopped due to incident involving protesters. #SSN
The Tour de France was stopped during stage 16 after it appeared the riders were sprayed with a substance. It happened during a protest by French farmers when a bunch of hay bales was thrown across the road just before the peloton arrived. Television pictures showed a police officer using a spray on the protesters. And it could have been that the wind carried that spray into the peloton, affecting several of the riders.
Wednesday .... 2 hours and 22 minutes of torture today and Thomas did not crack, finishing 3rd.... Dan Martin 2nd. Thomas took 48 seconds out of Froome... Thomas clearly Sky top dog now!!!!.. GT leads by 1:59 over Dumoulin in second. Dumoulin is World Time Trial champion so Friday is the BIG day...
For some reason Cycling Weekly suggests this may be the end of Froome, he did win the Giro D'Italia not that long back which was a different kind of preparation to previous years. So with the right preparation and circumstances it's not inconceivable he could win again. https://www.cyclingweekly.com/news/...om-stage-17-of-the-2018-tour-de-france-388089
During the Vuelta, he looked done and then form nowhere he blew the field apart.... tomorrow is a flat sprint stage... the TT may well decide the tour...
Thomas has a scary moment when he was grabbed. https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2018/jul/26/tour-de-france-geraint-thomas-chris-froome-cycling
Arf Give Jonathan a break. Okay, so he supported Linford Christie and was a client of Andy Norman but you have to admire his consistency. Cathal Dennehy @Cathal_Dennehy What sort of message does it send to young cyclists when Eurosport employ Alberto Contador, a man who cheated his way to a Tour victory, as an analyst? Jonathan Edwards - with a straight face - called him the 'the one and only'. Pathetic please log in to view this image
