Funnily enough, posting them side-by-side four times makes it so much more obvious the kits aren't even the same colour

RIP Paul Madeley, despite playing for that awful Leeds side he was an honest albeit hard footballer. 73, not a great age.

  5. Agreed and well said!
Him and Paul Reaney always seemed decent sorts in that den of iniquity.

Madness in my house last night with all this heat we leave both doors from the lounge to the conservatory and the conservatory to the garden open to get some breeze in .when it started to get dark I put the lounge lights on and was watching TV when all of the sudden I heard my parott shout feck off and get him rottie , with that I noticed a large dragon fly had landed on the parotts cage the parott tried to attack it then it flew off and was circling my lounge ceiling light my 2 rottweilers then went mental running round the coffee table trying to catch the dragonfly absolute mayhem for about 10 minutes until it finally landed in the light headfirst with its body sticking out the top.the dogs were trying to jump up and get it the parotts going mental saying ffs sake get it rottie.I managed to get it out of the light and put it back outside by my pond and normal service had resumed,it could only happen to me <laugh>.

African Grey? Clever fekkers they are.

Many years ago I worked behind the bar in a local pub. The Landlord always called his wife 'the old dragon'. Unfortunately the Landlord, who's name was Gerry, died. On the evening of his funeral, myself and a couple of customers were having an after-time drink when the Landlady arrived and we all heard Gerry's voice saying, 'Look out, the old dragon'.

It was rumoured that the pub was haunted, we all looked at each other, no one said a word and we drank up and finished the evening. Over the next couple of weeks the same thing happened 4 or 5 times but the word had got around. However, one evening when the Landlady turned up again we all heard Gerry's voice once again, but this time a colleague was near the parrots cage and sussed it. The parrot had the Landlords voice off to a 'T'.

A very sad day.........<rose> RIP John Murray, the Middlesex and England cricketer and the man who taught me how to hold a cricket bat properly. He lived up the road from me as a kid and also probably taught Mike Gatting, who was a neighbour. A lovely, lovely man.

Did you live in Kilburn (Ireland? as it was in those days)

Indeed, one of my Middlesex heroes. 20180725_173623.jpg
Picture from off my tie that was produced for his benefit year.
Think I'll wear it at the weekend.

  16. RIP Mr Murray <rose> - he was a lovely man! I was on Surreys books, but played a few games for the Lords ‘Nippers’ in 1975 and he was around a lot and always offering advice. Never knew he was Muller’s brother-in-law!!

What part of Ireland do your family hail from, Brian?? Kilburn was a real melting pot, but lots from Cork ended up there in the 70’s.

Dad's dad was from Galway. Mum's dad's family were from Ballymena. A bit of North and South - no bloody wonder it never worked out.
