Would of liked to have seen seven figures only because of the ridiculous fees that are paid these days but 750,000 sounds pretty good to me for this particular player.
A couple of seasons ago, we couldnt give him away. DC didnt want him but he worked hard and earned the right to stay and although he make me frustrated a lot of the time, there were some good moments too. Last season was his best for sure with regards to his work rate. I dont think he is worth a million or eve half a million but prices these days are stupid. Good business by the club say I. But it leaves us very short.
Resigned. Not consulted with changes to his job and felt it was a lack of respect after everything he has done for the club spanning 21 years. As a result, he has resigned. This is what is being reported.... is it true? I don't know but people thanking him on other forums and twitter for his service.
https://www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/2018/july/17.07.18-tareiq-signing/ The club is very pleased to announce the arrival of left back defender Tareiq Holmes-Dennis from Premier League outfit Huddersfield Town for an undisclosed fee. The 22-year old spent last year on loan at Portsmouth, however suffered an injury on the opening day of the season which unfortunately ruled him out for the remainder of it. Prior to that campaign, Holmes-Dennis made 15 appearances in all competitions as Huddersfield achieved promotion to the Premier League for the first time in the club's history. Born in London, the left-back's career begun at Charlton Athletic, where he progressed through the youth system to sign his first professional deal in 2013, however his senior debut would have to wait a further year. The energetic defender moved on loan to then-League Two club Oxford United in October 2014, making his Football League debut that same month in a 2-0 home victory over Tranmere Rovers. He stayed at the Kassam Stadium until February 2015 and was a regular feature in the side before being recalled by the Addicks, however was strangely loaned back out a week later to Plymouth Arygle, where he was a part of the play-off campaign that ended in semi-final defeat to Wycombe Wanderers. Over the course of the 2014/15 season, Holmes-Dennis made a combined 31 league appearances for Oxford and Plymouth. His next temporary home was to be League One Oldham Athletic, joining late in the season in March and making 10 league appearances before snapped up by then-Championship side Huddersfield on a three-year deal. Holmes-Dennis also has a cap for England's Under-18s, playing in a 1-0 defeat to Belgium in March 2013. Manager Darrell Clarke was delighted to recruit his sixth new player of the summer. He said: "Tareiq is a player that we have chasing for a number of weeks. Obviously, he had the disappointment of missing the last campaign through injury but has applied himself well to get back fully fit. He arrives at the Club at a good age and we are hoping that Tareiq is able to hold down the left-back position for a number of seasons to come." Tareiq has travelled to Holland with the rest of the squad to take part in this weeks training camp.
Confirmed... Harrison is an Ipswich player now for an undisclosed fee. https://www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/2018/july/23.7.18-ellis-release/ Manager Darrell Clarke had this to say on his departure; "Ellis has been a fantastic servant to the club over the years and I'd like to thank him for all his efforts during his time here. He will be more sorely missed on and off the pitch and I wish him every success in the future."
Its all rumours why he resigned so far. But it is a fact that he has resigned. Those who claim to be in the know are saying the club made the decision to offload the programs to a business in the Midlands, so removing the role from Keith. The club informed Keith by email that this was happening. They apparently made no attempt to discuss with Keith what they were planning to do with the programmes. He was no consulted or asked to assist in any way. Now remember, Keith has won awards for his programmes. So its not broken, why fix it? As a result of this, Keith resigned as felt he deserved more respect than that. Again this is all rumours. Some are saying the club don't need to consult with Keith so are suggesting Keith is throwing his toys out of his pram and resigned because even though he lost his programmes job, he was still employed and suppose to be continuing his media stuff. So some are saying he was stupid to resign. But some feel Keith did the right thing as he has earned the right to be consulted on first after 21 years of working for Rovers, doing many jobs and often going that extra mile too. A proper Rovers guy. Some are saying people who have been at the club for ages and are proper Rovers people too should be treated better by the club. Personally, I see both sides of the argument as Keith didnt have to leave but I feel the club should have had the decency and respect on how they went about it all.
It will be interesting to see the programme for this coming season, reading the Gillingham programme the other night the designers and printers are all going to be different for this coming term and the fear seems to be that our matchday magazine might just morph in to a generic Saturday afternoon football publication. That would be a shame in my book as I have always thought that The Pirate stands us apart from the crowd. Oh well, programmes are not even going to be a given from now on so we might just be witnessing the beginning of the end for our favourite Saturday afternoon read ?
I seen this yesterday on another forum. Dated May 2018. Rovers announced in May that next season the programme will be changed. Full story here: https://www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/2018/may/piratecontinues/ Here is part of it within that link.... Next season’s programme will be printed and designed by Curtis Sport, who are based in Aldridge in the West Midlands. As things stand at the moment, we will be producing an 84 page programme (four pages less than this season, but with fewer advertising pages) and the cover price will remain at £3.00. So Keith and his team knew about it since May, maybe before that. Unsure why he has resigned yesterday. Why wait until near end of July?
Development Squad goalkeeping coach, Steve Mildenhall, has today joined Swindon Town to take a role within the coaching setup at the County Ground. The former Rovers goalkeeper will become a member of Phil Brown's first-team backroom staff. Mildenhall, who originally joined Rovers on loan back in December 2012, before joining permanently in May 2013, made over one-hundred-and-twenty first-team appearances for the Club. Last season, Mildenhall took up the role of goalkeeper coach with the Club's Development Squad upon his retirement - assisting Chris Hargreaves and Brian Dutton. The Club would like to thank Steve for all his service and wish him well for the future. https://www.bristolrovers.co.uk/news/2018/july/23.7.18-mildy-swindon/
We have no idea. Its undisclosed. Thats what both clubs have said. So I am not sure where any figure has come from.
