also their PL record the season before that and the one before that: 2016-17 - PL 23, W5 D4, L14 PTS 19 2015-16 - PL 21 W4 D5 L12 PTS 17 I suppose you are right, it's been getting worse every season!
IF and big if we sign Zaha then I think Palace are ****ed. They may even still be ****ed if they keep him. Cardiff I think are nailed on to go back down, not a decent squad and they have Warnock as manager. Third team I'm unsure of. Think between Saints or Fulham, even though I rate Jokanovic and I think Seri is a great buy, they still don't have much about them other than Sessegnon.
. I think Libby disagrees, he reckons you've bought really well this summer. Reckon Cardiff, Huddersfield and surprisingly i reckon burnley will go
What logic is being used to get Burnley relegated? They look a good unit to me and play with a bit of determination.
their squad is small, they are in the europy which will stretch their squad and their style of football where they are scraping draws/winning 1-0 is exactly where it could go wrong if fortune turns a little bit. Also theres always a club that you don't think are going down who are in danger of doing that exactly. Burnley did brilliantly last year and overachieved which is why if they go to underachieve (if we say their level is mid table) then they could find themselves struggling.
I never said we'd bought really well, just that so far we'd addressed the positions we need but still need some attacking players. In truth any 3 from about 10 teams can go down. Bournemouth maybe?
Am hoping for somewhere between 8th and 12th and that would have been a good season. We have a lot of potentially very good but unproven young players and today added another quality more experienced player to the squad, but our achilles heel will be the lack of premier league experience since we have pretty much none at this point. We didn't play with a large squad last season and the players coped with more games in the championship than they will play in the premier so don't expect that to be much of an issue.
If Bournemouth lose Howe or Burnley lose Dyche then both clubs would struggle IMO, but they will be ok if both stay.
Tbh just avoiding relegation is success after getting promotion anything better is a big bonus IMO. The PL is an unknown quantity, but I will say that I think that you should be at least a comfortable mid-table.
Relegation fight ... if they survive they could push on the season after ... the Prem is a whole lot different .. we pissed the Championship and survived by the skin of our teeth the next season ...
