I’ve just read Jean’s post on CL that poor little Jack has taken a turn for the worse & the doctors are fearful.
No 4 year old should have to go what he has gone through. I saw a lot of Jack and spoke to his Dad having experienced similar problems last year. Jack is the bravest & most cheerful kid imaginable, and I marvelled at how his Dad held it together including all the travelling from where they lived to hospital every day.

Both Jack and his Dad wore Charlton shirts at the hospital.

They’ve been to absolute hell and back, and the way they have both fought back has been incredible.

    <cheers>

It rather puts Football into perspective. To have a young child and his parents going through what they are going through is truly awful. I hope Jack pulls through.

Sad to report that poor Jack died today at the age of only 4. Cancer is a bastard.

    RIP Jack.

Terrible, a life cut short so young.
Sympathies for his loved ones, and for the families of all youngsters who have to face this awful illness.

    RIP Jack...

One night I dreamed a dream.
As I was walking along the beach with my Lord.
Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
One belonging to me and one to my Lord.

After the last scene of my life flashed before me,
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that at many times along the path of my life,
especially at the very lowest and saddest times,
there was only one set of footprints.

This really troubled me, so I asked the Lord about it.
"Lord, you said once I decided to follow you,
You'd walk with me all the way.
But I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my life,
there was only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me."

He whispered, "My precious child, I love you and will never leave you
Never, ever, during your trials and testings.
When you saw only one set of footprints,
It was then that I carried you."
