From a Watford perspective I love my club, but maybe less so since the Pozzo's took over and we have become a club of players who had to look for Watford on a map before coming here. In order to win the Premiership we would have to try to become like one of the leading clubs - like a mini Chelsea, and then we would be unrecognizable from the family club I started supporting in the 60s. So, I would prefer to win the cup than the league. As for the international team - I can remember how the whole English league got a spin off effect from the win in 1966 - attendances rocketed, and most clubs profitted. A world Cup win is something which people remember 50 years later but a league win - how many people remember who won the league in 1966 ?
I've gone for QPR. However this is the first England squad in years that appears to have a team of players that want to play for each other and actually look like a team. I would like to think that in the QPR team that does win the PL will have some home grown players or players that have been developed from 10 years old to the first team.
It’s a tough question... the ‘ride’ of ‘doing a Leicester’ would be phenomenal. I remember the euphoria of that season in 1982 and the cup run (and sadness after the replay). To actually do it in the premiership, as a team, without all the egos and massive spending would be an amazing one-off life journey. Winning the World Cup, as England, would be equally a huge experience. The stages and games do bring people together; and the sharing of it with everyone around, especially family and friends, is a unique and wider joy. And even better if one our own could be in the team. But the pull of patriotism just edges it for me ... so country first (then the PL title can follow).
QPR for me every time. I just can't get that excited about England, plus they rarely feature QPR players nowadays, even on the bench/included in the squad.
how could you forget The 1965–66 season was the 67th completed season of the Football League. This season is notable for Liverpool winning the title – their seventh overall – with only 14 squad players. The Second, Third and Fourth Divisions were won by Manchester City, Hull City and Doncaster Rovers respectively.
QPR for of course because im Finnish, althought England national football team is my favourite after Finnish national team.
QPR first and foremost and I feel a bit like like Igor except Finland winning the World Cup is of a much higher probability than Canada ever doing so. I too have made England my second team (in spite of my German heritage on my father's side). Anyway my mother traces her family back to Dorset and my wife was born in Oxford so it's England.
Has to be club seriously The nation team is a nice sideshow every two years I thought it was a disgrace with the its coming home rubbish during the World Cup which was brilliant. The World Cup did go home it’s rightful home where it was invented England did really well in the tournament but are still way off in footballing terms Saw the promise of our youth teams failed big time to the French the other day 5-0 England the holders of the u19s WC were dreadful and a disgrace that game could of been 12-0 easily See the French even sponsor the nation side now QPR offers us sustained hope every weekend.
