Well sort of. Mostly it was painting himself as the hero and victim of the nasty players. Who he hadn't paid what he was contractually obliged to. And that the players should reimburse the fans for his being a cock.
I agree the Allam's could have written that statement, apart from the fact that the English are better than they could manage.
The bloke at Bolton seems to have a lot in common with Assem, they both started as accountants and the statement the bloke at Bolton put out when he took over was very similar to Assem's. Stadium only used thirty times a season, ground could see as big a revenue as the football club etc.
The specifics in this case are a Bolton problem, exacerbated by the chairman, and it would seem the players have every right to strike. Underlying the issue though, and the real problem, is the unrealistic and unsustainable amount of money that flows to players and their agents, who have ever more ridiculous expectations. On the whole, I think its about time that some chairmen took a stand against player power. Doesn't stop the chairman in this case being a bit of a dick with his statement, clearly not intended to heal.
