Apparently Igor Vetokele has picked up an injury during the Welling pre-season friendly. I read that he may be out for 8 weeks. Don't know the source - I picked it up on another forum. I'm assuming it is accurate information. That brings the number of injured players to 3 now as far as I know; Billy Clarke (ACL) Ben Reeves (Achilles) Igor Vetokele (unknown) All of whom are expected back round about September time. Since injuries look like they are going to become an issue again, I thought we might as well have a thread dedicated to the treatment table...
Igor Vetokele will be out for longer than eight weeks, it is a serious injury. Anfernee Dijksteel is also out injured. https://www.cafc.co.uk/news/view/5b4dc5d33fc3c/igor-vetokele-to-miss-start-of-the-season-with-injury
Igor should be paid up & his contract terminated. Sadly he is now a crock. We have signed Darren Pratley on a two year deal. #OffToPopTheChampagneCork
Pratley is a decent player, strong midfielder and adds a bit of physicality. His age is against him though, but is a leader and we need some direction.
Good solid signing at this level. I understand the hold up was over length of deal rather than wages.
Thanks for the latest injury updates gentlemen. Here's the latest list then; Billy Clarke (ACL) ... expected back in September Ben Reeves (Achilles) ... expected back in September Igor Vetokele (torn foot muscle) ... expected to be training again by September Anfernee Dijksteel (unknown) ... time to recovery unknown.
Pratley has a lot of experience playing at a level higher than League 1. This makes a pleasant change.
Don’t know who’s pulling the strings as regards transfers but at least this signing shows intent to strengthen the squad , we need it
Pratley is 33, he is a like for like replacement [we hope] for Kashi, who was 4 years younger & a crucial player for us last season. BexleyBoy is wetting himself that our 22 man squad is so strong - more than half of them are kids, crocks, or want out ? We still haven't replaced what were 3 absolutely vital for players for us last season in what turned out to be an average side - Amos, da Silva and Konsa. Don't hold your breath.
