Anyone else getting nervous? I didn't think we'd get this far in the tournament let alone a chance of getting to the final. Please let it happen. If it doesn't we can still feel proud of Southgate and the team regardless of tonight's outcome. Good luck lads, keep trying to play the right way and conduct yourselves in the same fashion as you have done throughout the tournament and return home proud. Hopefully that will be on Monday. C'mon England!
So who's watching where tonight? Me? I'm off down to the local golf club to watch it with Ian my Burnley supporting mate and fellow Englishman amongst the various indigenous who'll no doubt be shouting for Croatia (I may be doing 1 or 2 a disservice!!!!!) Had to smile last evening when one of the locals collared me in the bar, he was slightly pished and he said that "he could see the Mainland winning it" Make of that what you will...… Come On England......
Actually I have the same calmness that I felt before the play off final which is rather odd...….maybe it's a sign that things will be alright.
We're having a family debate ( my wife and two daughters ) whether or not to go to the pub or watch it indoors.
Odd fact.... Did you know? Croatia v England (19:00 BST), BBC Radio 5 live and text commentary online Former manager Sir Alf Ramsey (46) was younger than Gareth Southgate (47) when England last won the World Cup in 1966. please log in to view this image Brings it home how tough that generation had it as I always thought he was closer to 60 at the time...….
On my own, in my house...next door to the pub. To nervous to make contact with other human beings. Hubbie will be off in another room no doubt killing things on Doom, or Black Ops or some such game...muttering under his breath that his civil liberties (access to TV) is being upsurped. If it goes to penalties he will wander in, but often his interest dwindles even before that naturally ends.
I'm in Bristol, on site and forgot to bring my laptop with me on Monday. What a dick. There are a couple of local pubs, but I might do as I did for the Colombia match, sit near the router and watch it on my phone. Any cheering will have to be silent as we're not meant to be on site after 6. Nervous, yes, confident, I think so, proud, immensely. Come on lads.
Going to be in a bar in Banff, fishing town on the North East coast, which no doubt will be full of Croat supporting Scots (my work pal has already said he will be praying for a Croatia victory, as did the landlord of the hotel I stayed in last night). I will be wearing my limited edition England 4 West Germany 2 t-shirt that I have worn for each game so far (it's not been washed either......) so I'm sure there will be some banter thrown my way, but hoping I'll get the last laugh!! I'm at a festival at the weekend, but have found out they will have a large screen up for the final - hopefully the t-shirt will get it's final outing before getting framed as a lucky talisman!!
Looking forward to the football tonight, though I haven’t been that nervous about a semi since I watched Brokeback Mountain.
The French I have been talking to have been very flattering about England, and hoping we get to the Final. Somethings not quite right.......
I wish all England fans on here the very best tonight, I am very confident that they will win, a much more attractive side to watch than the dour Croatians, and entertainment is what I am after, like most neutrals.
I will watching in apartment with friend. Friend is from Newcastle! Big England fan. He think 3-0. I think very close. Some beer and vodka already in refridge
Sounds like a plan..... Geordie not the easiest English dialect to understand...…. Are you still based in Croatia or moved elsewhere?
