Well 7-0 winners and pretty easy. Chester didn't threaten to score at all.

    First half:
Curtis Jones looked good on the ball and linked up well with Wilson who made some very good runs beyond the defenders and had a lovely little finish for his second. Origi made some very good runs as well, but just had no final ball. Either rustiness or his normal self, but he'll get plenty more chances this preseason.

    Second half:
Sturridge looked very sharp; great little flicks and touches and linked up well up top. Two cute little finishes showed his class. If we can keep him fit, as always, he could be a big part of the squad. Robertson didn't stop running up the flank and put in a few nice crosses - barely looked like he'd had a break. Keita still early days, but you can see he rarely loses the ball, looks calm and strong with it and looks forward every time. Ojo has been hitting the gym hard and looks a real unit now running forward and taking players on, he could be a useful squad option too.

some very interesting young options to see if they can be brought on here rather than buying.

    ojo certainly has worked hard
Wilson is what we all know.. if klopp thinks he has physique for prem. we will see.
Woodburn needs to start showing something
Kent hasn't had a good time on loan. he will be sold.
Curtis Jones is a very good prospect indeed for midfield

Keita was alright, but you'd never guess how much we'd paid for him on that showing plus it was against Chester too!

Far too early to have any real opinion, just getting into Klopp's system and getting used to team mates really with a nice little run around

    Watched the game earlier...

    Fabinho looked useless.

    Keita looked very good.

Do we read too much into that? No.

Depends who you're talking to on here. IMO pre-season means as much as their card syndicate on the coach but others on here think it's the jump start to a world class career!

I think it's neither of those tbh.

I do think it's important for fitness and settling in, and tactical tweaks. I don't think the result or performance is particularly important.

It was the way he finished them, no panic no trying to impress, just natural confident finishes.

Keita did look a class above. His touch and control is so good, and the way he just glides past people. Can't wait to see him in a competitive game.

my view is that it is important as a whole.

Every day and every match is an opportunity to show klopp you are bringing a high level and are listening to what he is saying and applying it.

Decisions will be made on players futures based on their showing over preseason.

I don't think anyone expects a preseason game on its own to make minds up.

I think some guys decisions are already made on and they know it, like markoivc and they put little in. Others like ejaria already were marked down for loan.

Woodburn, wilson, ojo... the fact they are in preseason suggests they at least have some chance of making some impression

Stylistically, Wilson is perfect to slot into our front. Attacking wide man who can drift centrally and score goals. Hope he’s given a chance.

And I really want Ojo to succeed. Arguably the most talented youngster we have but his progress has stalled massively.
