Maybe because reporting famous people for groping will gain publicity and in time the behavior would be eradicated. Women have a right to not be touched/kissed suggestively without consent. I'm pretty sure a lot of non famous people get reported, but shockingly (not) enough, that doesn't get reported in national press.

Most men drive women home and kiss/touch them against their will? Just because you grew up in a time when men could get away with doing whatever they want to women, it doesn't mean it's fine and should be brushed off.

Hey hang on a minute..........What makes you say that? We didn't get away with sod all.........The vast majority of us respected our partners. If anything we idolised them!! Just as today there are some that will not take no for an answer and I accept that. However to classify all of us in that frame is way over the top.

Don't think it's fair to say most men. I can keep my hands to myself for one. I wouldn't make a move unless I knew it was mutual, even when drunk I'm still in control of my morals.

I would also say that i would trust the majority of my friends to have the same/similar moral compass to me.

Didn't get away with sod all? That's why there are so many retrospective reports of domestic abuse/sexual assault coming out from years ago? Don't pretend that women had anywhere near the same voice, opportunities or protections 30/40 years ago than they do today. Same with children. Don't get so touchy about generalisations because you treated women well. I didn't say ALL men treated women like that either.

nb - it's accept, not except.

With respect I lived through that period and I'm not getting touchy about generalisations. Also yes history does tell us about how women were thought to be "second class citizens " at one time!! That is one hell of a leap though from someone that has been accused of sexual assault in this modern age. The second world war and progress into the swinging sixties changed those old fashioned thoughts and quite rightly so. The country was even governed by a women in the late seventies!!! 39years ago.
As for domestic abuse....strewth there is as many today as there was years ago. A recent survey also suggested it happens more today than it did in the 30s and forties......although granted there is an argument as to whether there is more publicity today for the domestic abuse. I would also add that not all abuse is male against female, just as likely tother way round, non of which is acceptable.
All the above does not shore up your argument about down trodden women in this day and age!!

In the bar I work in in Manchester I've had to kick out around ten people ever. More than half were from Stoke and I've taken a right hatred for the place since! Enjoy chatting to people from all parts of the country but people from there always seem to have a chip on their shoulder!

Reading between the lines, have we approached Rolf Harris to join the coaching staff?

Yeah, it's weird on the internet at the moment. Everyone is offended by something. Some people are offended by things that someone else has encountered. And some are offended by things they might encounter in the future.
My advice would be, get offended at the appropriate time-when it happens, and at the immediate time, make loads of noise about it so it can't be brushed off.

I not fussed about whether we give him a go, but I am somewhat against loaning him out again. I'm at the stage now where we either keep him as part of the squad, or sell him.

PS. This is a transfer thread guys. (Obviously not aimed at you Whiteley)

No one is saying it is fine. What is being said is that we would have told him to do one and dealt with it ourselves rather than going to the Police. It wasn't right then anymore than it is now but most women would have just dealt with it and probably would now. If it's serious then go to the Police and how serious it is considered really depends on the individual. We all have different perspectives. Above all both men and women should take more care of their own safety and lessen the chance of situations arising. And no that doesn't mean it's their fault before anyone jumps on me.

Last season was the one where he should have been in the wings. We'd know if he was good enough, and also it could have stopped the record signing coming it.....which has added to our problems.

Maybe believe the victim of the assault. This is why so many women don't press charges or see it as a common thing. Toxic masculinity effects our society big time and women are harassed and assaulted everyday.

If women just moan about it to eachother then what exactly is that doing to resolve the behaviour of men that is intrusive, and deeply uncomfortable to a lot of women? The only way things will change if there is an actual deterrent for men who over step a womans boundaries.

There is more domestic abuse as more women report it that is a fact. To simple wave away abuse or assault victims as "maybe they liked it" etc is disgusting

Jesus... can we keep on topic! I don't mean to be insensitive but surely there are places to talk about this.
