It’s worth remembering that we signed Bowen from Hereford, he is a testament to a previous scouting network now disbanded.
Sort of...but he played in France for a few clubs before going to Man Utd. And he's pants anyway IMO.
So, if you say between Tymon and Clark we got £2m. How much has it cost to put through all the other academy prospects that don’t make the grade? I’d say it is far more than £2m over the same period of time.
Rent + coach wages + players scholarship wages + a few commodoties such as food, drinks, a couple of kits, coaches to take players to and from games etc. - FA subsidary and sales Without knowing how much the rent is I doubt that lot has turned up a massive bill.
Insurance, grounds maintenance, training kits, football kits Home and away x 25 per age group for U6 through to U23. That’s a massive bill - which is why lot’s of clubs have stopped academies and youth sides. Our club are now taking players in at 6!! They’re also missing out on some of the best local young players.
Maybe if you'd have posted my post GLP, chazz wouldn't have got all hissy about it. Stilllllll ......... All the work that has been put in over a numbers of years to get the Academy where it is (probably now just over it's peak) is sadly being undone. Sadly our 'Golden Generation' has been / is being frittered away. There's a bigger picture behind the scenes rather than a forum conflict between a couple of posters. ALLAMS OUT !!!!
All in all, a sad situation, especially so for the player. He had the world at his feet going into the Premier League, barring some bonkers injury at Grimsby. What might have been eh ... could he have been picked up (well for £10m at least) gone to a bigger Prem team and finished as an England full / wing back, given he was knocking at the U20 door?
Not only valuations falling short, evidently personal terms minus incidentals such as win bonus are an issue
Christ watch the fall out from this ..... In a way I can see why some clubs tell players they are not entertaining largesse. 'Ordinary' jobs get base salary and perhaps an annual bonus. Footballers want that on a grander scale and more .... a weekly bonus if they do well at their job and 'win a game', but they even get payments (certainly in the Premier League they do) for inclusion in the match day squad as a non playing sub. FACT. I think it's when some clubs pay peanuts before they even discuss add ons that makes player think '**** that'. .Perhaps that is what happens at the best run club in the country, Hull City Tigers 1904.
Nicely summed up... Rick @HullCityLive He's shopping in SCOTLAND and being priced out! That's like being too skint for Netto. #hcafc
