Mexico just seem to too often take the wrong option when they get in attacking positions.

I can say it now because he's not playing for Chelsea - Willian is a superb player.

Mexico have not quite got it... Last ball lacking. Not enough speed of player, of ball or thought. Brazil at a canter even though only 1-0

I wish Neymar would stop acting like he’s been shot at every opportunity, it’s embarrassing

I wish referees would start booking him for it. The thing when the Mexican player trod on his ankle was naughty, but it seemed clear that he didn't put much pressure on. The way Neymar carried on, you'd have thought his leg was snapped in two.

There's one word you could use to describe Mexico, consistent.

Apart from the last one, this is the worst Brazil team in a long time and horrible to watch with the diving. Will be a good game for them against Belgium who have already beaten Japan.

Think people are fooling themselves with this easy side of the draw attitude. Agree England has a very good chance of going deep into the playoffs. But they will now have to deal with being clear favourites in both the last 16 game and the QF. A pressure England will have to deal with, that history shows England don't thrive under. They will also be favourites in a potential semi final, huge if against Russia, narrow if they face Croatia.
And if they get to the final they come up against the ghost of '66. But if they do get to the final I quite fancy Englands chances against anyone of the big names on the other side of the draw. The lower sides will stay deep and not allow England to play to their strenghts, while all of the big names will fear Englands strengths but still play their own game allowing England to counter etc.

I would normally be shouting for the underdog, but Japan’s behaviour in the last 15 minutes of their last game was so disgraceful I hope Belgium smash them, and then go on to smash Brazil.

Interesting (to me at least) that this Belgish team has two players each from the Top 4 teams in the Premier League (although Fellaini ain’t on the pitch at the moment).

That’s because all the places in Belgisch teams are filled by Chelsea reserves and paid for by Chelsea.

Seriously they had 38 players out on loan last season, quite a few in Belgium. Their longest serving player, Matej Delac (me neither) has never kicked a ball for Chelsea, has been loaned out 10 times and will be joining a Danish club this summer as his contract expires. Now Abramovich is banned from the UK perhaps the policy of buying every promising young kid on the planet to prevent any other club getting them will fall by the wayside. Along with their new stadium.

I’m trying to resist the urge to be childish, but at I’m midway through a decent Californian Sauvignon Blanc, so... poo poo.

Chelsea are a bunch of tossers. Anyway, interesting to see two Spurms, two Manures, to Chelskis and two Citehs, is all.

    Japs have scordificated.

Way ahead of you on the Picpoul de Pinet, one bottle down.

Well I thought I wanted Belgium to win, but an involuntary ‘yes’ was bellowed when that went in.

Is that a red or white...educate me, s’il vous plâit.

I’m cheering on the underdog in just about every match except when Angleterre are playing.
