What goalkeeping set up would you like for next season...?

[edit] Poll closed. This is how we all voted before start of season, in case anyone is interested.

By the way, can one of the admins put the little "poll" banner on the thread? Cheers.

Don’t think we’ve ever seen enough of either to make an informed choice, neither has had a decent run of games for us. Think they will be rotated in the pre season games and will be battling big time for the No 1 spot!

Let’s get Joe Hart on loan.

There isn't a 'Poll' prefix awjm so I've just put the word in the thread title.

I think Ingram will be our No.1 goalie next season if we don't acquire a new one. There's only 14 months in age difference between him and Lumley, with Ingram being the elder and more experienced (24 & 23 years of age respectively.)

Ingram has played 196 times ( only 12 for us. ) Other clubs - Wycombe (124), Hayes & Yeading (4), Oxford City (17)

Lumley has played 52 times ( only 4 for us. ) Although he does have the better pedigree, coming through the Spurs youth system whereas Ingram came through Wycombe's. Other clubs - Bishops Stortford (4), Acc Stanley (5), Bristol R (19), Blackpool (17).

It wouldn't surprise me if we bought in another keeper as these two are relatively young for the position and have little experience at this level. I can see one of them being loaned out again if that's the case.

Having seen Ingram play, it’s Lumley for me.

Generally speaking, I'd take Lumley over Ingram. Obviously, he has less experience but my opinion is purely based on what I've seen and I've seen quite a bit from each keeper. Ingram seems a bit arrogant and rash at times. His distribution is also a bit lacking. For either of them, it will be a baptism of fire if they are number 1 all season. But it will either make or break them.

    There's a poll....
Option one: Lumley as no.1 and Ingram as backup
    Option two: Other way round
Option three: you don't trust either and want a new keeper.
    Cheers, boss.

Lumley and/or Ingram will show next season how good Smithies was and make us realise that we don’t have adequate cover. Smithies will go in to great things and Cardiff will sell him for a fortune.

Smithies was so consistently good for us - even when let down by the defence - that neither Lumley or Ingram got enough of a look in for me to judge. As such (and as the opinion on them seems to be split) I'm gonna hope we get another keeper in.

We've seen so little of either of them, that I really couldn't say who should be number one. I certainly don't think we should be looking to bring in another keeper, though.

Why do you think we should definitely not be looking for another keeper?

Well, because we don't need another one. Two first-team goalkeepers, with extra cover from U23s should be enough.

So you believe both Lumley and Ingram are two first team quality keepers?

For the Championship, hopefully yes. We won't know until they've had a go. My point is, we don't need three keepers.

With the new big German in central defence we aren’t going to need a keeper at all.

Are you allowed to play 11 outfield players?
