Poch has taken us to within spitting distance of the two clubs that blow us out of the water on spending and wages. He doesn't have to prove himself any more. Now, it's down to the club generating the revenues from the new stadium, and matching United and City for wages. That is when you'll see us emerge as the best club in Europe. Imagine what Poch could do with Spurs on a level playing field! Arsenal, Chavs and 'Pool blow us out of the water on wages, yet we trounced them, last season. Okay, so 'Pool put up a good fight, but no way should any of those clubs be finishing behind us. That's down to Poch. I reckon United has one more season on us, then it'll be "goodnight Vienna" for them, as far as we are concerned.
Why are you surprised? Under Poch, we are finishing consistently in the top 4. Before him, we finished top 4 once. Poch has turned Spurs into a side that defends as well as attacks. In the past, the bigger sides used to love playing us because we were so open at the back, sacrificing defence for flair in attack. All that has changed. Poch has turned us into one of the most feared sides in the Prem. When you play us, you know that there is a chance that we can hammer you. So what if Poch hasn't won anything yet! It's early days yet. I expect Poch to be with us for a very long time, and that gives him plenty of time to win things.
No one’s really made any standout signings yet with perhaps Keita now finally at Pool who looks a really good player. There’s not been many signings made in general so I ain’t worried that we’ve not done anything yet. Grealish is looking likely and I really do hope that happens, few whispers here and there on others but I think once the World Cup is done we’ll see a lot of movement from all clubs.
Coming 4th is nothing, be more than happy to chuck praise Poch’s way if he starts bringing the trophies home but I just don’t see it. 2 seasons with nothing and you’ll be looking to bin him. Not saying you’re not good because you clearly are just don’t seem to be good enough when it matters under Poch.
Under Poch, we have finished 3rd, 2nd, and 3rd in the last three years. Prior to that, we finished 4th in 2009/10 and 2011/12. Going back beyond that, there is a smattering of 5th place finishes, but it's mainly a sorry tale of mid-table obscurity. Do you really think our improvement in form has happened by magic? If we let Poch leave, we're heading back from where we came. I do not know of any Spurs fan (in the real World) who thinks it would be a good idea to let Poch leave. Fortunately for us, neither does Levy.
Yeah fair enough no one will remember that though because coming second doesn’t mean a lot. I do like the way you play. let’s see if Poch can bring home a title or two.
He wouldn’t get it. I go to Chelsea with same people I went to school with in 80s. He doesn’t get matchday experience. But to be fair, he is not the only telly clapper on here
A year or two ago I’d have agreed but he seems to have knuckled down under Bruce. Watched Villa a few times as we sent Josh Onomah on loan there, Grealish was often miles ahead of anyone on the pitch.
Really don’t get the hype at the sort of figures quoted. He’s obviously talented and the whole playboy image is a huge fabrication but what’s he actually done? A couple of Cruyff turns against Preston.
