He better stop handling the ball and start whipping in some decent crosses then.

Romeu is our best DM and a really good player overall. We have Hojbjerg and Lemina though, and both younger.

I would hang on to Romeu if possible, but my guess is it will not be up to us. As long as we get a good fee, I think we can get by. Maybe it is Harrison Reed’s big chance.

Depending on what goes out and comes in, I can live with that. Not every player who could depart needs replacing via transfer.

Romeu is certainly a player I would like to see kept in theory, but Hughes didn't really use him and he doesn't suit the more direct style of play I suspect will be implemented. Last season wast a good one for him, but we were managed by Pellegrino for most of it.

A Canary supporting friend of mine was impressed with Reed last season - I hope he can make it, but he it`ll be difficult getting a game ahead of PEH, Lemina and Romeu.

If you read Yoshida’s book you might consider moving him there.

Hojbjerg and Lemina I would love to have as our DM pairing, so I’d be gutted to lose either. Romeu I think is good for the squad as he is a decent player, but easily replaced I’d say.

Tadic, I’d prefer to keep but I may be in the few that wouldn’t be that disappointed if he moved on. Would be disappointed for McCarthy to go though. Would be nice to keep Cedric and/or Bertrand but I know unlikely.

We need a clear out and have done for a couple of years, so losing 8 players doesn’t worry me.

I see no contradiction between Tadic praising Hughes and wanting to leave. I'm sure he cares about Saints and his team mates and wanted us to stay up....so he would be pleased to see someone come in to liven things up. And I'm sure he is much happier leaving us in the EPL....not so much like a rat leaving a sinking ship. He can leave with our thanks.

Ought to be unsurprised by anything after decades supporting Saints but can't see Romeu leaving now...he has been posting positive things about looking forward to getting back for the next season.

Lemina still has a few years on his contract, so can see no reason for us to let him go. Have to be an offer that really suits us from a monetary and football point of view. Just saw highlights of the Bournemouth game on Sky...one of Lemina's best games. Could be a good player for us with PL experience under his belt.

Forster....not impossible for him to regain form and it will be very difficult to move him on.

Boufal...wants to leave, needs to leave and easy to move on (even if we take a hit).

I hate losing any Saints player because I am sentimental to my core. I'd stockpile them in a warehouse if left to me. :) Luckily it isn't and I have to concede that it wouldn't be hard to find 8 players to lose (as suggested by Beef).

Wouldn’t be that disappointed, think his ceiling is pretty low.

We're leaving it a bit late for that, no?

I was expecting to be able to predict our incomings by the players we had sold by this point. We are slow at buying but our selling is usually done by July.

He did for a bit yeah, covered for Pinto's injury and did really well. Was mostly used in CM though.
Had a good season in a team that was largely inconsistent and was well liked.

Let´s hope our latest Armstrong plays a fine "tune" on the field of play, hitting the sweetest of notes when he passes to a team-mate.

So he will be called "Louis" from now on, and how appropriate is it that SFC have a song performed by the great man.

    We could call him Neil.

Once small step for Saints, one giant leap for Southampton

I really really hope that we don't sing this song....wait till he's scored a few belters and give him his own Saints song. However, we are seriously crap at this. :(

Do do do do, Stuart Armstrong

The Northam are preparing it and there’s nothing we can do to stop it.

Surely we would've moved at least one of these players on by now, time is marching on and they will be back for pre-season next week I presume?.

Well I'd imagine Tadic and Cedric will move on pretty soon after they are out of the World Cup. Long/Davis/Forster we will have trouble shifting for any sort of fee as their wages won't match what clubs who would be interested in them would be able to pay. Boufal supposedly has interest from a few French clubs so probably weighing up where he wants to go. Bertrand is the one odd one out I'd say as supposedly big teams want him and he isn't involved in the World Cup at all so would think he would've gone pretty soon If there was serious interest. I'd imagine there is some interest, but we want too big a fee
