Poor guy, how can anyone be expected to live up to Maldini's standards?

he was never going to emulate maldini. we here all the time about how such and such is signing the next 'insert name' and i've never once seen them live up to the hype.

maybe a run in the first team without that media spotlight will do him the power of good. just worried about him being right footed.

For some reason Inter replaced Santon with Nagatomo. Santon looks very handy and will only improve. A great move by Pardew and its a plus that he's a fairly tallish full back. Should be able to win his share of the headers compared to Ryan Taylor and Simmo. Actually can't believe he is having a medical with us, if he reaches his full potential.. I expect a world beater and hopefully will let him win his Italy place back.

He'd be a first team starter if Mourinho didn't leave Inter.

At 20 his best form is probably still 5 or 6 years away, Italian football are expecting to much from him comparing to players like that. Getting rid of him on loan after one bad game can't have done his confidence to much either.

I think we will have to allow him time to adapt and really get behind him if he has a dodgy start.

The lad is young and Pistone springs to mind who was excellent later on for Everton

i'm looking forward to seeing him play but i'd be happier if we were signing another left back and santon was gonna be playing right sided.

Nagatomos **** hot thats why, plus naturally left sided and gets Inter into the Asian market.

Would take Jose Mourinho's opinion of him being the future of Inter and was going to be a starter, than Rafa Benitez' terrible player opinion.

I have reason to believe this is the case.

Its pretty clear that their have been incident's that have effected his development over his career. But he is at that age if we keep playing him as a LB he probley wont reach his full potential in RB where he would be in his element and more likely get his international caps.

I also like the fact he's friends with Balotelli might help swing a loan move? ;)
    (haha I can dream)

Just read it myself this morning. Dont read too much into it. At the end of the day if Santons career had hit the heights it was expected, than he wouldnt be anywhere near us at the moment would he?

Its a good thing. Get him in. Watch the lad turn into Maldini in a Black n White shirt!

    :D
