Yeah. I received an e-mail from a mate in NZ last night. In it he said the icing on the cake would be for Pompey to go out of existence. I just can't go along with that. I don't even want to see them relegated. tbh. It's too much like our scenario from a few years back. That was so awful I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
I'm sorry for Pompey fans that I know, but a couple of years in League 1 would not go amiss (didn't do us any harm). What goes around, comes around...something we should all be aware of (hard though that is to imagine at the moment).
I have had Pompey supporters practically all my life in my family. Mostly on my Grandads side of the family and some of my Nans. Some I managed to convert but the majority stayed avid fans. Over the years these have whittled down...then my Son (an avid Saints supporter) married a Pompey supporter!! She is a lovely girl...but it don't say much for her taste!! Ah well such is life......
Actually seemed quite a nice chap! Gave him a drink in the Saints glass. My husband was wearing his 'Never Ever Blue' T- shirt. Couldn't quite manage to get him into our car (with the SFC number plate) to go up the pub though.
Well it all ended in tears. They’ve split up and she had a lucky escape and I needn’t worry about having grandchildren who are Skates.
My wife is from Southsea and has five brothers all Pompey supporters so some of you lot have got off lightly!
Try and think of it as worthy missionary work. To be fair to Portsmouth, I dated a skate girl once, and she was very nearly human
I married a girl from Portsmouth, didn't end well, but I have 2 lovely daughters who if they had any interest in football would be Saints. Doubt if they're related to me though.
