Just to be clear; as our last signing we bought Carrillo - a 3rd chose striker from French L1 with a goal scoring record of 1 in 5 games (who scored how many goals since January?) and are now thinking of buying Celtics 3rd or 4th choice CM (based on last season)? Am l missing something here? Sorry if this offends but somehow l am not too excited by this prospect...

I do however accept that we were utter s#$t last season and the new owner is cash strapped cos he cannot get his ill gotten gains out of China. So options are limited.

Here's hoping The Board will utterly destroys my current lack of conviction.

Same, but I'd expect that a condition of bringing in Gunn would be a commitment to playing him, which is why it's such an odd link.

 

Bryan was on the bench when Aberdeen won the ECWC. I really hope we stick with McCarthy, so if this story has legs, I`d hope he comes here as back-up.

 

To replace Forster on the bench hopefully

We need a new young keeper so the Gunn links could just be that, we can't go into a season with just 2 so might not indicate anyone leaving. I have no idea how good he is or how highly rated he is so maybe City are just looking to sell him?

Ideally we can bring in someone to challenge McCarthy for the starting spot, shift Fraser and sign a young prospect but that is probably wishful thinking.

 

That was the case with his loan at Norwich I understand.
Which was easy to maintain as he played really well and is very well liked. I would think he'd be more likely to go back there for another season unless Pep is insistent he gets Premier League experience this season.

 

He's a goalie. I doubt Pep even knows who he is.

 

Depends if he can play sweeper keeper. Pep quite likes those.

I doubt if FF was recruited by Chelsea he would be brought in as their No 1. No way would they replace him with Fraser. They be better off bringing John Terry back and play him in goal. or peter Bonnetti...

 

I never said he'd be first choice. But they do need to look at there goal keeping situation.

 

Last I heard, Fraser wanted to be no1 somewhere ... I can't see him going to Chelsea to sit on the bench.

 

I heard Bognor were looking for a keeper.

 

Selling Forster and buying Gunn would be a good start to transfers
