Define **** performance? There’s your problem with footballers. They are doing as contractually obliged. We see how **** most of them are. But they are fulfilling what they have to. Ergo they get paid. I wish football was like real life. If all players were paid on performance then we’d probably see a much better game. FWIW I don’t see Cattermole as a number on here do. Agents are ruining the game and the us another example of that imo. I don’t think Cattermole would’ve said that. Just an opinion.
Like you Marcus I was a big Catts fan. But he's tainting and scarring whatever respect I had for him as one of our players. I just want the guy gone now. Would be great if he went the other way in a Grant Leadbitter deal but that's just not gonna happen. Sounds like his agent wants her pound of flesh.
I just don’t think he that way inclined mate. Maggie Byrne has proved beyond any doubt what a **** she is. This sounds like her doing. Remember he has a contract with her too and the likelihood is that she will want a cut of what he’s due too. Obviously I’m assuming there but pretty sure that agents are paid a percentage by their clients
Its so easy to blame agents these days but there again, they make it so easy for us to blame them as well. In this particular case, although without knowing all of the facts, I think her position looks to be highly dubious. Could she really agree and sign off on a contract and then walk around the table and take control of said same contract?
In business, I worked for a company where our top boss negotiated a deal for a contract. He then moved to the company he negotiated with and managed them. Monopolies and mergers came down on him like a ton of bricks. Massive conflict of interest. But it’s football not “business” and seemingly works completely differently.
If a player doesn’t want to play but is made to , he’s just going to play deliberately badly that there’s no choice but to not select him
Cattermole or Rodwell? Cattermole never said he “didn’t want to play” just that he wants a move. Much like Oviedo did.
In fairness to Cattermole injuries have took there toll on him. Personally I think he knows he's on a hiding to nothing if he stays. He can go with his head held high for me, always gave 100%, played while injured and for me was a Premier League mid field player before his injuries. Comparisons with Rodwell are grossly unfair. I
It’s the ‘won’t leave a penny behind’ that’s irking mate. Catts has been loyal and absolutely he’s always given it all, but if he’s now trying to rinse every penny out of the club that all means nothing at all.
Agent talk for me Nads, all a bunch of sh its. I'd give Cattermole the benefit of the doubt on this one. I'd be changing agents tho, she has done him no favours.
No quotes from Cattermole himself. His agent has said that. I don't think this will be coming directly from Catts. Could be wrong though.
I think its already the case to some extent. It's just more apparent because of the position we're in with a load of players who think they're too good for League 1.
If I were in a court of law to define sh*t performance I would start by highlighting getting paid 75,000 a week and not wanting to play for that. My case rests your honour.....
There’s got to be some legal conflict if interest for her to give him his terms and represent him, surely? If not it’s a ****ing scandal of a setup.
This all seems a bit strange, surely players contracts demand that they “use their best endeavours blah blah” Given the amount of performance measurement these days if they are shirking they could be subject to disciplinary proceedings resulting potentially in dismissal. Or am I just naive.
If there are any K.P.I. measurements the management would monitor them, presumably, and underperformance would just result in not being picked to play in future games. Players' 'best endeavours' could not be determined simply because we're human, so disciplinary proceedings could not ensue. Rightly or wrongly, that's the way that I see it, Shack
Me and burly we’re talking about that too. I can’t see how that’s legal personally. Certainly wouldn’t be legal in the business world. Shows how far departed the real world is from football!!
