I think it is statement of intent (hope), I can't see Radz spending the money on the coach if he won't back him. I've also seen reported that the Americans are waiting to take over if Radz thinks he can't get us promoted so think this might be his last throw of the dice. It also helps all his TV business PR stuff if we get promoted as he invests heavily in the far east (and where we went on that tour). So if we go up, investment comes from everywhere plus the Sky TV money. (For the record please note: I could be spouting bollocks)
Same here mate, I think he (Rads) has learnt his lesson from last season and is going for it, now lets see what money he gives Bielsa to strengthen the team and make a go of it, if he goes out and buys Billy Paynter for ten bob, , (which is way over the top) then Glory is right, its PR bollix, but the signing of Bielsa is the start of, hopefully, our return. we just have to wait and see what the new man comes up with before we start slashing our wrists(Glory)
Hopefully he's got the right man in to do the job and he backs him up, its a start Although i'm not getting carried away just yet, either way.
The only angle I can see where Radz and Orta don't spend much money and yet still persuaded Bielsa to come is with our young pool of reserves. It would be Bielsa's wet dream to turn our young starlets into a winning side with his coaching style and who is to say he won't succeed. For Radz and Orta, they will be hoping he unearths a few gems because we certainly aren't getting much money for the likes of Phillips, O'Kane etc...
Again, don't disagree. But if you were Hernandez or Vydra, would you decide to sign if your choice was to be coached by Heckingbottom or Bielsa?
Oops! Gotcha. The Macedonian beer had clearly dulled my senses. I was simply referring to t'internet's general consensus that we're going for it. Indicators? The ones I can remember & that influence my thoughts are: * The removal of PH * The appointment of internationally-acclaimed manager * Bielsa's standing with disciples at clubs who can provide us with previously out of reach loan deals * Radz planning on adopting the 'Wolves' ideology from last season * Our largest transfer kitty for quite some time * 4 kids successfully breaking into the 1st team squad (so that's 4 less squad players we need to sign) * The quality of the u23 players on the verge of breaking through * Prolly most importantly (so far) - the retention of our best players * Commencement of dead-wood ship-out - 2 already - in mid-June!! If these things all come together, then it's not unreasonable to get excited. Personally, I simply like to hope, as always, but I have been uplifted by 1 small tweet - Phil Hay relating that promotion was not officially on the agenda this season - but to take that with a pinch of salt. I guess the biggest indicator of the positive possibilities was the eye-opener of you talking about buying a season ticket! So, what are the signs that we're not going for it, then?
Not so much a swerve as a slight kink. Still not convinced that Belgrano is the new messiah. Too many clubs have discovered he is just a naughty boy. The squad as is will see us relegated, the kids arnt as good as some believe and we will only progress if we buy some proper talent and need somewhere between five and eight proven players that will cost between £20mill and £40mill only then could we be described as going for it. As the above is certain to happen (ahem) my season ticket purchase is assured but it’s Rads turn to go first.
But those that watch the kids seem to think they are. Those that watch the first team know one player from another Personally, I think three or four quality additions would make all the difference, more, of course would be welcome. Can’t see why you would even consider buying two season tickets with your views (especially if the builders actually start putting some bricks down in Spain), unless of course.........
Morning Marcos. Every football club on earth since football was invented have always thought that two more signings would improve the team.
The bricks have been ordered and paid for! It was all supposed to be done by December/January. But given the delays I can see it being March/April at the earliest now. So if things are as so many think the season tickets would be self financing if I went to the games... Besides which I could always lend them out if I can't be arsed... We are flying out again in a few weeks time. I am only staying for 3 days. As for unless.... My retirement is permanent... hers is on hold.... It was like a cold war summit getting it all agreed.
