    Interesting - Ronaldo denied a penalty. Obviously Fifa do not apply the ruling that anyone associated with Man Utd, no matter how tentatively, shall always be awarded a penalty when falling over either in, or just outside, the box.

    Ronaldo is the best player since I started watching football, Messi is fantastic, but has far better players around him at International level and never really shines or makes the difference.

    That's the old romantic in you. The players nowadays are far fitter, pure athletes.

    That makes it impossible to say who would be better due to the generational gap. But if you put Ronaldo as he is now against any of them how they were then - Ronaldo would out perform them. By some distance imo.
