Getting those 5 off the wage bill will save Two Sh1ts a lot of money....but the last 4 years tells us he won't reinvest it. This January he sold POTY Holmes and replaced him with Kaikai on loan. to be fair to James Dutton, I believe he joined this forum specifically to defend himself against things that Royston was posting about him here. I appreciate that once JD is a member here he can be expected to be conscious of the long standing of other members and treat them with appropriate respect. It may be that JD has been disrespectful to Royston, but as far as I know JD has not had a problem with anybody else here has he? If he has and I have not noticed then I apologise for the oversight. If JD has been using the 'report' button to make what the moderators or admin deem to be unwarranted complaints, could JD not have been warned about this by personal message? (again if this has been done but ignored then I apologise). If James Dutton has not been spoken to already by PM it seems pretty harsh to humiliate him in public like this for making what he presumably believes to be honest complaints. I am not trying to tell anybody how to do their job here - I know I am a relative newbie myself and I don't want to antagonise anyone. I am also aware that plenty goes on behind the scenes that members like me know nothing about. It just seems to me (from what I have read) that James Dutton is being treated pretty unkindly. PS: This is not a dig at you Royston, I'm not taking sides in the disagreements between yourself and James Dutton. It's just how I feel about what I have just read.

In all the years that this brilliant forum has been going , I think I amright in saying with Steve, the 2 Andys and friend Joe we still have 5 original members at least, we have had our ups and downs , rows between us and others, and some posters have departed along the way. What we’ve never had - to my knowledge - is a Millwall fan coming on here for one day in order to get the attention he so craves in his life - and then filing “reports” (what are they even ?) when his attention seeking doesn’t get him the adulation he thinks he deserves. This time last week @James Dutton was “very hopeful” about his Aussie mate taking the club over. Nope. So today JD has gone bust (literally) Take your statue, your sign, and you raspberry pavlova ...and go back to Millwall mate
In polite response to your question; James is a newbie, he has only made 30 posts yet has already hit the report button 3 times. The highest ratio ever for a Charlton member. I had a similar situation the other day on the Leeds board and dealt with it in the same way. On that ocassion i received no complaints how i handled it. When someone reports it take me directly to the content. The content on each ocassion suggests to me if James feels the need to report it, he is clealy in the wrong place, especially as site adminstration time is voluntary. Why here and not PM. Quite simply not my style, never has been. The report brings me here, so he gets my response here. As a volunteer democracy becomes too time consuming. I PM him, he PMs me, I PM him back again, he reports more content, I ban him, I still then have to come here to explain. So my direct approach cuts out the bullshhit. I have no objection to James expressing himself as you say to defend himself, what i do ask is he grows a pair and stops hitting the report button, that way i don't have to infest your board with my pikey mitts and he doesn't get banned. You wouldn't like him when he's angry. I tried to draw James into a more bland exchange, all he was interested in was taking on Royston.
You weren't the only one FHB...Some of us asked him genuine questions...he had the opportunity to answer them, but he didn't, he chose to go down a different route.
All points made are accepted. I do recall other members trying to get conversations going with James Dutton, but he was not interested in those overtures. And once again, I was not trying to tell anybody how to do their job, though I accept that is probably exactly what it looked like I was doing. No offence intended towards anybody, least of all the administrator. I understand this is not an arcane Gentlemen's Club with a strict code of conduct, it's a fans' forum.
the harry lennon deal says a lot about the takeover if you make educated guesses. i think it's off. The aussies first choice of manager was SCP. Harry Lennon is signing for southend on the basis that SCP is the manager (otherwise why else go there?). So SCP not coming looks like the deal is off. would be devastated if RD doesnt leave this summer.
Thank you. You have restored my faith in human nature. Every time I come on to this site I see that Nick has been repeating his allegations that I'm a 'lifelong Millwall fan, when I suspect he knows I'm not. And on its own it would be quite funny, but his other snide comments suggest otherwise. What is motivating his attacks? Well all I know is he has a thing about Ben Hayes, and in 2016 I supported Ben in Twitter spat they were having. I know Ben through the museum, and he is also the guy who got the South Stand rededicated as the Jimmy Seed Stand, and he's always seemed a decent person with the best interests of the club at heart. The result of his personal attacks on me is that some on here seem to have taken everything he's said as gospel, and some seem to enjoy popping over to CL to have a go at me, presumably based on what they've heard about me here. I've defended myself on here, explaining the Millwall connection, and other lies, only then to be accused by 'Royston' of talking about myself too much. This is the problem with the internet, it's all too easy to build a false image of someone, just by repeating lies, and then mocking any defence against those lies. It's a tactic used in American politics a lot, and increasingly over here. I'm sure if I had a beer with any one of you I could explain myself better. Happy to let bygones be bygones, but if not, I'm always ready to defend myself against comments about me that are unfair or untrue. One example is the repeated assertion that I make things up (including my meeting with my contact) in order make money from my blog, when there have never been any ads on my blog. Pretty disappointed by your admin person's public response though, I have to say.
