might as well join in... Messi - penalty miss or good save. Personally - it was a good save by the keeper. Peru - unlucky against Denmark. Did not realise that Kasper has gone 500 minutes plus without conceding. Croatia - didn't play well - although work man like performance and won - Nigeria were poor However Saudi were or have been worse side so far. Couple of good Russian goals Felt sorry for the Aussie's - have Aussie family so supporting them as my Second team Player of tournament so far is Ronaldo. Love him or loave him he is still a class act. Could he fit into the QPR set up...not so sure .
Apparently the Aussies were a tad unlucky with refereeing decisions, didn’t see the game but can only surmise that VAR didnt pick up the French ball tampering.
Of the kits....see nothing in the Nigerian kit that is sooooo great, Croatia kit always a winner....so far my eye has been taken by Iceland.... A bit like England but so much better Sent from my STF-L09 using Tapatalk
there's been one outstanding game, the rest have been a struggle to watch. Don't know what tactics Nigeria deployed but they managed not one shot on goal. Contenders with Saudi as crap teams of the tournament. Let's hope we don't join that club Monday night
Only saw Messi's penalty on the news, but I thought it was a pretty poor effort. Good height for the keeper and only halfway between centre and side netting. I suppose to be fair, if the keeper had guessed the other way we would be saying what a cool finish it was.
Really entertaining game so far. Chances at both ends and an open flowing game. Slightly rooting for Costa Rica in this one.
I am watching Germany v Mexico. Quite a turn out for both teams. Amazing sung support for both National Anthems.
Enjoying this, open game and Germany v Mexico feels like a proper World Cup game from any decade you want. Mind you my local, the Fat Pug, 100 yards down the road from me, has organised its PugStock festival with the road blocked off, live bands, hog roasts and lots of beer starting at 11 this morning. As I like to support local businesses I am now quite mellow and possibly not in the best position to appreciate the footy. This on top of my Portuguese neighbours BBQ last night where along with the burgers and sausages, he grilled superb sardines (and got the special wine out). He confessed that he told everyone he thought Portugal would win against Spain, would have been happy with a draw and expected them to lose. Mexico score!
Deserved goal. Mexico look like they have a game plan and are executing it with discipline and style.
Germany look ordinary at the moment and Mexico look good and are especially good on the counter attack. Deservedly ahead, but I wouldn't get against the Germans getting a result whilst playing poorly.
An amazing fast paced 1st half. Literally non-stop end-to-end action. Mexico deservedly leading 1-0. But can Mexico keep this tempo up for the second half? It will be fun to find out!
It is great fun but to maintain it at an enjoyable level you have to know when to stagger home....... Pondering a footy trip to Poland in November with some mates Ski, though discussions were initiated today under drinking rules, so things are vague. Advice welcome, would hope to get two games in over a long weekend, happy to include a train trip of a couple of hours to achieve that. Of course it would doubtless include drinks and hopefully a game with yourself. Can you get Warsaw - Krakow and return in reasonable time, allowing for drinks and a game?
Really enjoying this, Mexico have had chances on the counter to finish this and are defending like heroes. Their fans are brilliant as well, and there in big numbers. Germany don’t seem to have a game changer on the bench but never rule them out until the whistle goes.
Germany are now all out creating some good counter attract opportunities for Mexico. But the final pass or shoot is lacking. Great tactics from Mexico and a cracking match.
